What Are You?

I am often asked if I am a Republican or Democrat. Some people hear me speak or read my posts and ask  if I am a Libertarian. I am not any of those.

I am a follower of the Constitution for the United States of America, A nation founded as a representative republic but often called a democracy. I have registered to vote as a Democrat, a Libertarian, even a Republican, but that wasn't because I feel loyal to a party.

I do subscribe to the representative form of government that our founders created with the ratification of  the Constitution. I support those individual candidates who also share my concerns that we have drifted far from those principles in America. But does that address the question, "What are you?" No.

To address that question, I have to search beneath my ideology and political visions. I must search my soul. In doing so, I can define myself as a loving human who cares more about how I can serve the highest good of all rather than serving self. I can define myself as the sum of two very different religious beliefs and how that has produced a spirituality that transcends theology. A reverence for the Creator and Master of the Universe that is not based in fear, rather a striving to commit myself to attaining the level of love for all that our Creator demonstrates in all that we experience in life.

I can also define myself as a patriotic American, who was born and raised in the city where independence and liberty are enshrined with the symbols that represent the nation from its birthplace. Yes, I do pledge my allegiance to the flag but not to the government that has usurped the very Constitution they swore to uphold and protect.

I am an American Patriot, who like many before me and many of my fellow patriots today, are not pleased with a system that has corrupted the basic institution of electing representatives. Party agendas have replaced the will of the people, and  the politicians who have become the prostitutes of the banks and corporations consistently demonstrate their lack of caring for the very people who entrust them to protect.

I am a free and sovereign individual and as such do not accept any form of government that deviates from that which our founders created as a limited form of governance, where the authority of the sovereign States and the People trump those of the nation government.

I am all of that which hates tyranny in all of its hideous and insidious forms of enslaving a free and sovereign people to the whims and wishes of a chosen few.

I choose to vote for the best candidates to represent me,who will defend, obey, and protect the Constitution from all enemies, including those within the Democratic and Republican parties.

What are you?
