I hope that everyone enjoyed the Independence Day celebration this weekend. Somewhere the meaning of the day has been lost in the political correctness of most holiday celebrations, not wanting to "offend" anyone that does not agree with the true meaning of a particular day of celebration or remembrance.
Now we have a verdict in the Casey Anthony murder trial. She has been found guilty of only one offense; she lied to the police. Now all of the talking heads and the "experts" are analyzing the verdict. "How can they find her innocent, when her baby is dead?" Or some say, "Maybe she was molested and traumatized and was hiding information that may have implicated her father." All of the conjecture is just that, the jury could find no reason to find this young and misguided woman guilty of murder. There was no known cause of death, there was no physical evidence to connect the death or the body with Casey Anthony, and while the defense did not produce any evidence to substantiate its claims of sexual abuse, in the end it was the lack of real evidence or at the very least, enough circumstantial evidence beyond a reasonable doubt.
While she may not be guilty of murder, she is not an innocent woman either. Her actions as a party girl notwithstanding, she did not appear to me to be a responsible parent, and while she may not serve a day in prison, she will have to carry her own guilt with her for the rest of her life. After all, she lost a child and that cannot be easy for anyone to deal with.
I'm glad that the trial is over, so now we can get focused on what really matters: Saving the sovereignty of the United States of America from economic collapse.
