America Will Elect A Socialist (Again)

Excellent article. Please take a moment to digest this provocative article by a Jewish Rabbi from Teaneck , N.J. It is far and away the most succinct and thoughtful explanation of how our nation is changing. The article appeared in The Israel National News, and is directed to Jewish readership. 70% of American Jews vote as Democrats. The Rabbi has some interesting comments in that regard. "The most charitable way of explaining the election results of 2012 is that Americans voted for the status quo - for the incumbent President and for a divided Congress. They must enjoy gridlock, partisanship, incompetence, economic stagnation and avoidance of responsibility. And fewer people voted. 

But as we awake from the nightmare, it is important to eschew the facile explanations for the Romney defeat that will prevail among the chattering classes. Romney did not lose because of the effects of Hurricane Sandy that devastated this area, nor did he lose because he ran a poor campaign, nor did he lose because the Republicans could have chosen better candidates, nor did he lose because Obama benefited from a slight uptick in the economy due to the business cycle. 

Romney lost because he didn't get enough votes to win. 

That might seem obvious, but not for the obvious reasons. Romney lost because the conservative virtues - the traditional American virtues – of liberty, hard work, free enterprise, private initiative and aspirations to moral greatness - no longer inspire or animate a majority of the electorate. 

The simplest reason why Romney lost was because it is impossible to compete against free stuff. Every businessman knows this; that is why the "loss leader" or the giveaway is such a powerful marketing tool. 

Obama's America is one in which free stuff is given away: the adults among the 47,000,000 on food stamps clearly recognized for whom they should vote, and so they did, by the tens of millions; those who - courtesy of Obama - receive two full years of unemployment benefits (which, of course, both disincentives looking for work and also motivates people to work off the books while collecting their windfall) surely know for whom to vote. The lure of free stuff is irresistible. The defining moment of the whole campaign was the revelation of the secretly-recorded video in which Romney acknowledged the difficulty of winning an election in which "47% of the people" start off against him because they pay no taxes and just receive money - "free stuff" - from the government. 

Almost half of the population has no skin in the game - they don't care about high taxes, promoting business, or creating jobs, nor do they care that the money for their free stuff is being borrowed from their children and from the Chinese. They just want the free stuff that comes their way at someone else's expense. In the end, that 47% leaves very little margin for error for any Republican, and does not bode well for the future. 

It is impossible to imagine a conservative candidate winning against such overwhelming odds. People do vote their pocketbooks. In essence, the people vote for a Congress who will not raise their taxes, and for a President who will give them free stuff, never mind who has to pay for it. That engenders the second reason why Romney lost: the inescapable conclusion that the electorate is ignorant and uninformed. Indeed, it does not pay to be an informed voter, because most other voters - the clear majority – are unintelligent and easily swayed by emotion and raw populism. That is the indelicate way of saying that too many people vote with their hearts and not their heads. That is why Obama did not have to produce a second term agenda, or even defend his first-term record. He needed only to portray Mitt Romney as a rapacious capitalist who throws elderly women over a cliff, when he is not just snatching away their cancer medication, while starving the poor and cutting taxes for the rich. 

During his 1956 presidential campaign, a woman called out to Adlai Stevenson: "Senator, you have the vote of every thinking person!" Stevenson called back: "That's not enough, madam, we need a majority!" Truer words were never spoken. Obama could get away with saying that "Romney wants the rich to play by a different set of rules" - without ever defining what those different rules were; with saying that the "rich should pay their fair share" - without ever defining what a "fair share" is; with saying that Romney wants the poor, elderly and sick to "fend for themselves" - without even acknowledging that all these government programs are going bankrupt, their current insolvency only papered over by deficit spending. Similarly, Obama (or his surrogates) could hint to blacks that a Romney victory would lead them back into chains and proclaim to women that their abortions and birth control would be taken away. He could appeal to Hispanics that Romney would have them all arrested and shipped to Mexico and unabashedly state that he will not enforce the current immigration laws. He could espouse the furtherance of the incestuous relationship between governments and unions - in which politicians ply the unions with public money, in exchange for which the unions provide the politicians with votes, in exchange for which the politicians provide more money and the unions provide more votes, etc., even though the money is gone. Obama also knows that the electorate has changed - that whites will soon be a minority in America (they're already a minority in California) and that the new immigrants to the US are primarily from the Third World and do not share the traditional American values that attracted immigrants in the 19th and 20th centuries. 

It is a different world, and a different America . Obama is part of that different America , knows it, and knows how to tap into it. That is why he won. Obama also proved again that negative advertising works, invective sells, and harsh personal attacks succeed. That Romney never engaged in such diatribes points to his essential goodness as a person; his "negative ads" were simple facts, never personal abuse - facts about high unemployment, lower take-home pay, a loss of American power and prestige abroad, a lack of leadership, etc. As a politician, though, Romney failed because he did not embrace the devil's bargain of making unsustainable promises. It turned out that it was not possible for Romney and Ryan - people of substance, depth and ideas - to compete with the shallow populism and platitudes of their opponents. Obama mastered the politics of envy – of class warfare - never reaching out to Americans as such but to individual groups, and cobbling together a winning majority from these minority groups. If an Obama could not be defeated - with his record and his vision of America , in which free stuff seduces voters - it is hard to envision any change in the future. 

The road to Hillary Clinton in 2016 and to a European-socialist economy - those very economies that are collapsing today in Europe - is paved. For Jews, mostly assimilated anyway and staunch Democrats, the results demonstrate again that liberalism is their Torah. Almost 70% voted for a president widely perceived by Israelis and most committed Jews as hostile to Israel . They voted to secure Obama's future at America 's expense and at Israel 's expense - in effect, preferring Obama to Netanyahu by a wide margin.

A dangerous time is ahead. Under present circumstances, it is inconceivable that the US will take any aggressive action against Iran and will more likely thwart any Israeli initiative. The US will preach the importance of negotiations up until the production of the first Iranian nuclear weapon - and then state that the world must learn to live with this new reality. But this election should be a wake-up call to Jews. There is no permanent empire, nor is there an enduring haven for Jews anywhere in the exile. The American empire began to decline in 2007, and the deterioration has been exacerbated in the last five years. This election only hastens that decline. Society is permeated with sloth, greed, envy and materialistic excess. It has lost its moorings and its moral foundations.. The takers outnumber the givers, and that will only increase in years to come. 

The "Occupy" riots across this country in the last two years were mere dress rehearsals for what lies ahead - years of unrest sparked by the increasing discontent of the unsuccessful who want to seize the fruits and the bounty of the successful, and do not appreciate the slow pace of redistribution. If this election proves one thing, it is that the Old America is gone. And, sad for the world, it is not coming back."
Blogger's Note:  While I do agree with much of the Rabbi's commentary, I feel the reason Romney lost was because he did not gain the support of independent voters nor the left who were willing to vote for a different candidate than Obama. 

Romney lost much of the Tea Party supporters by selecting the Tea Party favorite Paul Ryan as his running mate after Ryan broke his word and voted for a debt ceiling increase and more spending. His promises to not do that is what got him elected and his reneging on that promise cost the GOP any change of a Presidential victory.

The Democrats are right, there are two Americas.

The America that works, and the America that doesn’t. The America that contributes, and the America that doesn’t. It’s not the haves and the have nots, it’s the dos and the don’ts. Some people do their duty as Americans, obey the law, support themselves, contribute to society, and others don’t. That’s the divide in America.

It’s not about income inequality, it’s about civic irresponsibility. It’s about a political party that preaches hatred, greed and victimization in order to win elective office. It’s about a political party that loves power more than it loves its country. That’s not invective, that’s truth, and it’s about time someone said it.

The politics of envy was on proud display a couple weeks ago when President Obama pledged the rest of his term to fighting “income inequality.” He noted that some people make more than other people, that some people have higher incomes than others, and he says that’s not just.

That is the rationale of thievery. The other guy has it, you want it, Obama will take it for you. Vote Democrat. That is the philosophy that produced Detroit. It is the electoral philosophy that is destroying America.

It conceals a fundamental deviation from American values and common sense because it ends up not benefiting the people who support it, but a betrayal. The Democrats have not empowered their followers, they have enslaved them in a culture of dependence and entitlement, of victimhood and anger instead of ability and hope.

The president’s premise – that you reduce income inequality by debasing the successful – seeks to deny the successful the consequences of their choices and spare the unsuccessful the consequences of their choices.

Because, by and large, income variations in society is a result of different choices leading to different consequences. Those who choose wisely and responsibility have a far greater likelihood of success, while those who choose foolishly and irresponsibly have a far greater likelihood of failure. Success and failure usually manifest themselves in personal and family income.

You choose to drop out of high school or to skip college - and you are apt to have a different outcome than someone who gets a diploma and pushes on with purposeful education. You have your children out of wedlock and life is apt to take one course; you have them within a marriage and life is apt to take another course. Most often in life our destination is determined by the course we take.

My doctor, for example, makes far more than I do. There is significant income inequality between us. Our lives have had an inequality of outcome, but, our lives also have had an inequality of effort. While my doctor went to college and then devoted his young adulthood to medical school and residency, I got a job in a restaurant.

He made a choice, I made a choice, and our choices led us to different outcomes. His outcome pays a lot better than mine.

Does that mean he cheated and Barack Obama needs to take away his wealth? No, it means we are both free men in a free society where free choices lead to different outcomes.

It is not inequality Barack Obama intends to take away, it is freedom. The freedom to succeed, and the freedom to fail. There is no true option for success if there is no true option for failure.

The pursuit of happiness means a whole lot less when you face the punitive hand of government if your pursuit brings you more happiness than the other guy. Even if the other guy sat on his arse and did nothing. Even if the other guy made a lifetime’s worth of asinine and shortsighted decisions.

Barack Obama and the Democrats preach equality of outcome as a right, while completely ignoring inequality of effort.

The simple Law of the Harvest – as ye sow, so shall ye reap – is sometimes applied as, “The harder you work, the more you get." Obama would turn that upside down. Those who achieve are to be punished as enemies of society and those who fail are to be rewarded as wards of society.

Entitlement will replace effort as the key to upward mobility in American society if Barack Obama gets his way. He seeks a lowest common denominator society in which the government besieges the successful and productive to foster equality through mediocrity.

He and his party speak of two Americas, and their grip on power is based on using the votes of one to sap the productivity of the other. America is not divided by the differences in our outcomes, it is divided by the differences in our efforts. It is a false philosophy to say one man’s success comes about unavoidably as the result of another man’s victimization.

What Obama offered was not a solution, but a separatism. He fomented division and strife, pitted one set of Americans against another for his own political benefit. That’s what socialists offer. Marxist class warfare wrapped up with a bow."

What Has Happened to Our System of Governance?

The government of the United States of America has declared war on its own People and it is winning! Your life no longer belongs to you, it belongs to the government.

The government will decide the curriculum best suited for your child and what school they will attend. When they graduate, the government will place them in a government job that best suits the talents developed, which of course are always to serve the best interests of the government.

If it is determined that you do not raise your children in a manner that government approves, Child Protective Services will take them from you and assure they get a proper government approved upbringing. You can get all of the expensive attorneys you can afford or deal with a court appointed one. In the end it really won't matter because the courts that no longer serve justice will rule in favor of CPS and the government, because after all, who knows better on what is right for children than the government?

You will not be permitted to have any arms because you may do harm to others or yourself with them. Those found with arms or commit any crime with arms will be put to death; or at the government's discretion, given a sentence in a prison camp as a guard. 

The government will determine if you medical needs warrant the expense versus your potential worth to the government. In a nation of share the wealth, nobody can be permitted to burden society unless they are privileged by their service to the government and loyalty to their leader.

A Congress is no longer necessary since all they do is argue and never get anything done.  Some even bring up issues such as constitutionality, when it is clear, that anything government deems, “necessary and proper” or “promotes the general welfare” (from the government's point of view) is constitutional period. The President will determine what the best laws are and will just write an executive order to make it law. Those laws already written will be ignored or changed to best suit the needs of the government.

Even the Supreme Court, the highest court in the land cannot be questioned once they decide a law is constitutional. Why if that were permitted, every law the People don't like can be called into question. Government cannot permit such blatant disregard for the tyranny it forces upon us.

Liberty is rarely lost all at once. The branches are pruned off the Tree of Liberty, until it is either restored or destroyed. Government has been allowed to cut branches off the Tree of liberty by using fear as a tool to enact laws that deprive liberty for the promise of security. And every time another 'crisis' arises, another few liberties are taken away. 

Government can take all of your rights if you allow them to. The only thing they cannot take is free will.  That is the root from which the Tree of Liberty grows.  Free will in inherent in all of humanity and is our birthright. 

Have we reached the point of total enslavement by the government, now an entity unto itself?  Knowing what the government has become, it makes me wonder if Americans have forgotten who they are! (Or is it simply a matter of education?)

"The unveiling of the dictatorial debacle that is Obama care absolutely flabbergasts me. It is stunning on so many levels, but the most shocking aspect of it for me is watching millions of free Americans stand idly by while this man, his minions in Congress, and his cheerleaders in the press systematically dismantle our Constitution, steal our money, and crush our freedoms.

The President, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid (with no small help from Justice John Roberts) take away our health care, and we allow it. They take away our insurance, and we allow it. They take away our doctors, and we allow it. They charge us thousands of dollars more a year, and we allow it. They make legal products illegal, and we allow it. They cripple our businesses, and we allow it. They announce by fiat that we must ignore our most deeply held beliefs – and we allow it.

Where is your spine, America?

Yes, I know people are complaining. I read the news on the internet. I read blogs. I have a Twitter feed. So what? People in the Soviet Union complained. People in Cuba complain. People in China complain (quietly). Complaining isn’t the same thing as doing anything about it. In fact, much of the complaining that we hear sounds like resignation: Wow. This sucks. Oh well, this is the way things are. Too bad.

Perhaps you need reminding of a few important facts. Here goes:  

1. The President is not a king. Barack Obama does not behave like a President, an elected official, someone who realizes that he works for us. He behaves like a king, a dictator – someone who believes that his own pronouncements have the force of law, and who thinks he can dispense with the law’s enforcement when he deigns to do so. And those of us who object? How dare we? Racists!

And while he moves steadily “forward” with his plans to “fundamentally transform” the greatest country in human history, he distracts people with cheap, meaningless trivialities, like “free birth control pills”! (In fact, let’s face it: this administration’s odd obsession with sex in general – Birth control! Abortion! Sterilization! Gay guys who play basketball! — is just plain weird. Since when did the leader of the free world care so much about how people have sex, who they have it with, and what meds they use when they have it? Does he have nothing more important to concern himself with?)  

2. It isn’t just a failed software program; it is a failed philosophy. People are marveling that Healthcare.gov was such a spectacular failure. Well, if one is only interested in it as a product launch, I’ve explained some of the reasons for that here. But the larger point is that it isn’t a software failure, or even a product failure; it is a philosophy failure.

I have said this before: Obama is not a centrist; he is a central planner. And this – all of it: the disastrous computer program, the hundreds of millions of dollars wasted, the lies, the manipulation of public opinion, the theft of the public’s money and property, and freedom (read insurance, and premiums, and doctors) — IS what central planning looks like.

The central premise of central planning is that a handful of wunderkinds with your best interests at heart (yeah, right) know better than you what’s good for you. The failure of such a premise and the misery it causes have been clear from the dawn of humanity. Kings and congressmen, dictators and Dear Leaders, potentates, princes and presidents can all fall prey to the same imperial impulses: “we know what is good the ‘the people.’ And they are always wrong.

There is a reason that the only times communism has really been tried have been after wars, revolutions, or coups d’état. You have to have complete chaos for people to be willing to accept the garbage that centralized planning produces. Take the Soviet Union, for example. After two wars, famine, and the collapse of the Romanov dynasty, why wouldn’t people wait in line for hours to buy size 10 shoes? Or settle for the gray matter that passed for meat in the grocery stores? But communism’s watered-down cousin, socialism, isn’t much better. Ask the Venezuelans who cannot get toilet paper. Toilet paper. ¡Viva la Revolución!

Contrary to what so many who believe in a “living Constitution” say, the Founding Fathers absolutely understood this. That is why the Constitution was set up to limit government power. (Memo to the President: the drafters of the Constitution deliberately didn’t say “what government had to do on your behalf.”) They understood that that was the path to folly, fear, and famine.)  

3. Obama is deceitful. Just as the collapse of the computer program should not surprise anyone, neither should we be shocked that the President lied about his healthcare plan. Have any of you been paying attention over the past few years? Obama has made no secret of his motivations or his methods. The philosophies which inspire him espouse deceit and other vicious tactics. (Don’t take my word for it: read Saul Alinsky.) Obama infamously told reporter Richard Wolffe, “You know, I actually believe my own bullshit.” He has refused to be forthcoming about his past (where are his academic records?). His own pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, told author Ed Klein, that Obama said to him, “You know what your problem is? You have to tell the truth.”

Did Obama lie when he said dozens of times, “If you like you plan, you can keep it. Period!”?   Of course he did. That’s what he does.  

4. The media is responsible. And had the media been doing their jobs, we would have known a lot of this much, much earlier.  The press is charged with the sacred responsibility of protecting the people from the excesses of government. Our press has been complicit, incompetent, or corrupt. Had they vetted this man in 2008, as they would have a Republican candidate, we would have known far more about him than we do, even now. Had they pressed for more details about Obamacare, Congress’ feet would have been held to the fire. Had they done their jobs about Eric Holder, Fast and Furious, Benghazi, the IRS scandal, NSA spying – or any of the other myriad betrayals of the public trust that this administration has committed, Obama would likely have lost his 2012 reelection campaign. (A fact that even The Washington Post has tacitly acknowledged. Well done, fellas! Happy now?)

Instead, they turned a blind eye, even when they knew he was lying, abusing power, disregarding the limits of the Constitution. It was only when he began to spy on them, and when the lies were so blatant that the lowest of low-information voters could figure it out that they realized they had to report on it. (Even in the face of blatant, deliberate and repeated lies, The New York Times has the audacity to tell us that the President “misspoke.”) They have betrayed us, abandoned us, and deceived us.  

5. Ted Cruz was right. So was Sarah Palin. The computer program is a disaster. The insurance exchanges are a disaster. What’s left? The healthcare system itself. And this, of necessity, will be a disaster, too.  Millions of people have lost their individual insurance plans. In 2015, millions more will lose their employer-provided coverage (a fact which the Obama administration also knew, and admitted elsewhere).  The exorbitant additional costs that Obamacare has foisted on unsuspecting Americans are all part of a plan of wealth confiscation and redistribution. That is bad enough. But it will not end there. 

When the numbers of people into the system and the corresponding demand for care vastly exceed the cost projections (and they will, make no mistake), then the rationing will start. Not only choice at that point, but quality and care itself will go down the tubes. And then will come the decisions made by the Independent Payment Advisory Board about what care will be covered (read “paid for”) and what will not.

That’s just a death panel, put politely. In fact, progressives are already greasing the wheels for acceptance of that miserable reality as well. They’re spreading the lie that it will be about the ability of the dying to refuse unwanted or unhelpful care. Don’t fall for that one, either. It will be about the deaths that inevitably result from decisions made by people other than the patients, their families, and their physicians. (Perhaps it’s helpful to think of their assurances this way: “If you like your end-of-life care, you can keep your end-of-life-care.”)  

6. We are not SUBJECTS. (or, Nice Try, the Tea Party Isn’t Going Away). We have tolerated these incursions into our lives and livelihoods too long already. There is no end to the insatiable demand “progressives” have to remake us in their image. Today it is our insurance, our businesses, our doctors, our health care. Tomorrow some new crusade will be announced that enables them to take over other aspects of our formerly free lives.

I will say it again: WE ARE NOT SUBJECTS. Not only is the Tea Party right on the fiscal issues, but it appears that they are more relevant than ever. We fought a war once to prove we did not want to be the subjects of a king, and the Boston Tea Party was just a taste of the larger conflict to come. If some people missed that lesson in history class, we can give them a refresher."

History Forward and Future Change

The United States was a place where people could gather with the ability to openly discuss ideas and openly voice their opinions, individually or collectively, to live and work without fear of reprisal or retaliation from anyone, to own outright the place were you lived, the fruits of your labor, those things you bought and to establish the means for self governance. It was the System of the interlocking concepts and ideals of family, community, and nation separated but always being guided by religious convictions that allowed freedom of choice bound by the tenets of right and wrong.

The two most important documents the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United states along with other historical documents set the bedment and foundation of governance for our nation while recognizing the ultimate authority of the people.

The United States was a representative form of Democracy that was a Constitutionally bound Federal Republic. Each Commonwealth, Dominion, District, and State of the Republic were Constitutionally bound representative democracies. Each Natural born Citizen was a Sovereign individual by right of birth from parents of United States Citizens. 

That was the Great Experiment.

The impetus for this place and the concepts of its inhabitants was simple. It was to escape from the control of those that would rule them by force and disallow the outright ownership of anything, including your thoughts or ideas and your person or progeny.

That original America no longer exists.

Obama holds none of the above to be of any importance and if we are to believe his own words, that his father was not a U.S. Citizen, was never and is not eligible to hold the the highest office in America. His documented and and confirmed statements, that he wanted a civilian army answerable to the president and his appointees and hirees, that he believes the Constitution confusing and can not be understood and has no real relevance, that the real authority is the U.N. and the International Court, not the people. There are many other ugly beliefs he holds to be true and has slowly changed the basic structures of governance to conform to his beliefs.

Our Nation has been mismanaged to such a degree that our financial indebtedness can never be repaid. Congress has, because of severe corruption and criminal activity in the White House, failed to carry out its obligations in accordance with the the mandates of the Constitution and has incrementally passed legislation that (because of false flag operations meant to cover-up wrong doing while carrying out operations of theft and redirecting the focus of attention and action to supposed terrorist activity on American soil), have violated the Bill of Rights and placed strictures on or abrogated the rights of U.S. Citizens. In addition to these affronts, Congress has allowed a condition of imbalance of responsibilities between the three branches of governance which, with the now damaged system of checks and balances, may not be recovered from, under the system that today is in place.

The state of our nation today forces me into the corner of my mind that holds self survival and the survival of the way of life and living I grew up under as being most important. It was not Democrat-or-Republican (think divide and conquer, see Note below) ideals or the principles that concerned me. Instead, it was making informed decisions that would insure the continuation of the System that allowed freedom of choice bound by the tenets of right and wrong in America.

Make No Mistake. 

Like watching sunlight reflected off the surface of an oil spill on the moving harbor waters of some safe haven, the hypnotic multicolored ever changing patterns belie the truth as the impending disaster glides closer to shore.

The bling which oozes shiny, glitz, and glamour, power and control, regardless of intent or the truth, and is backed up by any smooth thought-of-the-moment that will coerce or convince whoever to think whatever, in order to sequester power and control for the person speaking or acting, is the person occupying the White House.

Note:  

The phrase is attributed to King Philip II, of Macedon (382-336 BC), describing his policy toward the Greek city-states. In politics, divide and rule [also known as divide and conquer] is referring to a strategy of gaining and maintaining power based on the fact that many smaller opponents are easier to manage than one larger one. Our nation was roughly patterned on the formative concept of the Greek city-states.

The strategy includes:

* breaking up power alliances into smaller chunks that are easier to subdue/manage

* preventing small power groups from linking up and becoming more powerful

* forcing popular opinion into only two much larger groups which are controlled by smaller groups you have control over

Effective use of this technique allows those with limited power to control those who collectively would have had a lot more influence.

The use of the third type gives effective control to those with limited power to control by restricting choice into two dissimilar groups each of which are directed by a very small number of people which they have control over, thus depriving all groups of any control who cooperatively would have had a lot more self-governance and influence over their future.

I am replying to an email that I received regarding the current environment in which we now live in America. After careful consideration of facts, it appears that blame and fault is not going to fix what is wrong, only action by good Americans can do that. Keep in mind that it is more of a challenge than some agree on.

Dan,
The same fear and propaganda thing repeats itself and the uneducated fall for it again and again. It is sad but true that our nation, the greatest experiment in individual liberty is rapidly coming to an end. There are too many people who believe in the god of government and children are educated to depend on the government for more and more.

This results in the breakdown of the family as children learn in school an opposing view to the morality and responsibility that good parents give to their children. Government mandated education has ruined America as it did to Germany and Russia.The same influences that created the Soviet Union and the National Socialist Party are doing the same to America.

We are not at a crossroad, we are on a precipice and headed for the abyss. Many will give in and many others will fight and die for their freedom. Same as it was when this nation was founded. The difference now is that military technology and weapons today allow more citizens to be slaughtered more quickly. And weapons laws that keep those weapons from the citizens are allowed for government law enforcement at every level.

We are being controlled by media that focuses attention on social issues such as gay marriage and abortion. The powers behind the control of everything want to keep you focused on religion rather than liberty. I watch as the nation I love is divided on the false assumption that Democrats and Republicans are different. The results of the last 70 years however prove that there is very little difference. Big government gets bigger as more and more people become dependent on government programs. Food stamps and Medicaid have replaced jobs and benefits. Corporations have more rights than individuals and the gap between them is widening.as more and more laws are written to restrict our rights and give corporations wider freedom to do as they please to make profit.

Some will say that we have two many problems to fix and that it is impossible to do anyway. It's meant to seem so complex by design. That is so people feel overwhelmed and turn to their political 'leaders' for solutions. And that is why we keep marching down the path to destruction of the free and sovereign United States of America. Everyone wants the 'problem' fixed and most want someone else to fix it.

It doesn't matter to me where one draws resolve and strength. Allah, Buddah, Jehovah, Jesus will be sought in vain by many because they won't get up off their knees and fight their God's war. Our nation was built on the premise that all are created equal and endowed by their Creator with unalienable rights. It is important to understand how those words have been twisted to mean all sorts of things when used to prove a point. Taking a phrase or sentence out of context happens all the time. The words that define our nation must remain in the context they were written in, not the interpretations of a legislature or Supreme Court decision.

The very foundation that supports this nation is being hammered on from different enemies of the state. Foreign and domestic enemies who want to destroy liberty and control the lives of everyone are winning. They are winning because we are being manipulated so completely by these rich and powerful cowards. They have control over most of the resources of the world, and once they complete the takeover of the U.S. and its military resources, they will have what they want and we are no longer free or secure.

We are truly chattel and with the homogenizing and pasteurizing of American culture and society (in the name of progress) we are becoming exactly what our enemies want. Weak-minded and ignorant, following along leaders who offer promises that they never keep, only more and more dependence on government for all of their needs.

Seems that most Americans will not do anything until it's too late.

Principles, Not Ideology

What have we become as a nation? Our country was founded upon principles. Even though there were no prohibitions to slavery, drugs, guns, or rock and roll, there were always principles that led most people to do the right thing.

Slavery was not practiced by all, and it was the founding principles that did not interfere with the choice that people made regarding it. Just as we can choose not to patronize corporate brands who employ low wage workers in foreign lands, the free market system will always prevail to bring the best ethics from the providers of goods and services so long as the consumer is ethical also.

We are losing our liberty as we decline in wealth. We are declining as a nation as we lose our ethics and morals. And yet those who we elect to represent us have sold themselves to unethical special interests and corporations that place profits above the ethics and the law. Our representatives have legislated in favor of these corrupt corporations, elevating their rights above that of the individual.

The President and the liberal left do not possess a monopoly on legislation that is contrary to the principles of constitutional government. Many on  the right have supported legislation that is anything but constitutional. The Patriot Act and NDAA are two such examples. The rights of the individual are now secondary to the perceived belief that we are safer with  these laws.

The safest people are those who have the means to protect themselves, for they are the ones that the criminals fear and will avoid confronting. Car-jackers will think twice when enough media reports display would-be-victims taking responsibility for their own safety and use personal arms to protect themselves from these predators.

Lately I have heard arguments against gun bans from the so-called conservative party, that claims that federal weapons bans on such things as nuclear weapons and armored tanks are the only types of restrictions that can be permissible. I disagree.

If you have the wealth to purchase an Abrams Tank or a cruise missile, you have  the right to do so. The 2nd Amendment does not give you the right to bear and keep arms, that is written for the purpose of explicitly putting the federal government on notice that they cannot infringe on the right of the People to protect themselves. Just because the government is given the responsibility to protect all the States and all the People from enemies crossing our border and coming in from the seas, does not exclude the People or the States from protecting themselves. The first part of that Second Article of Amendment makes it clear that the States have explicit right to form their own militias, made up of the well armed and trained residents of the State.

All those laws that have been written since the Constitution was ratified, that clearly violate the limitations of the federal government and or restrict or prohibit the People from exercising their own rights, are not valid as law. We do not need the Supreme Court to offer an interpretation of the Constitution in order for the Constitution to be upheld.

It is with certainty that the complexity of law which is U.S. Code and Uniform Commerce Code, far exceed the constitutional limits on the federal government. Simply put, it is not for the majority of Americans to learn those complex laws, rather learn the Constitution and stick to it. Allow no exceptions in law that bends or breaks the purpose of the Constitution regardless of how socially expedient and necessary it may seem.

More laws do nothing to end the problem. Perhaps the punishment for breaking the law needs to be addressed. Starting with the 535 criminals who hold the entire country in slavery from their mahogany-paneled offices built with the taxes they stole from the States and the People.

Gun Law Illusion of Security

There are a lot of people who believe more restrictions on purchasing weapons will have a positive result in stopping gun violence, even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary. These are the most dangerous people in our society today. These are the people with tunnel vision based on their own narrow focus on reality.

Most of these people hold degrees in history or law. Some may also have degrees in social services and they have been taught incorrectly, that weapons cause violence. It is just nonsense.

I have been around hammers more than guns, and I know a hammer is a very dangerous weapon in the hands of someone wanting to harm someone else. A gun is just another tool, yet it was so important to the founders of the United States, to include it in the Constitution as part of the Amendments collectively named, The Bill of Rights. The gun debate stems from the Second Article of Amendment which states, "... the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." It was another limitation placed on the government, explicitly stating that no laws restricting that right is lawful.

Many will argue that today's social problems with drug cartels and dealers on the streets were not known to our founders or they may have made some concessions. It is arrogant and deceitful to expound on what the founder's may have done differently when it is obvious to anyone that studied the history of the American Revolution and even the Civil War, can plainly see that the resistance was against a federal government interfering with the rights of the free individuals residing in the free and sovereign States.

To even claim that we have law enforcement today that was lacking in the past is absurd also. Those inclined to do a crime, will do so regardless of laws. We have absurd drug laws and yet we have drugs rampant in American cities. Chicago has some of the toughest gun laws in the nation and they enjoy the highest murder rate with guns as the number one weapon. Maybe if victims had guns they would have at least prevented someone else from being shot by a criminal.

There is no evidence and there will be none that demonstrates any correlation between tough gun laws and lower rates of crime. How can there be any, when the opposite is true? Global statistics reveal that where there is little or no restrictions on citizens owning weapons, there is reduced violent crime.

Benjamin Franklin said, "Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both."

Tell your Congress that!

Death of a Nation

What will become of America now that liberty has been taken for the illusion of safety? Many people came out this past Tuesday to support the incumbent even with all the issues that have plagued this Administration and the American People.

A hastily passed health care act that will rob over a half trillion dollars from Medicare, restrict medical services based on accounting rather than need, and force people to purchase health insurance, furthering the demand on the people instead of providing them choice.

An  appointed Attorney General who has side stepped the law and allowed weapons to be sold to criminals in the now infamous Fast and Furious debacle, a man who has ignored immigration law, has refused to come forth with documents regarding the arms sale debacle that resulted in the deaths of countless civilians on both sides of our southern border, in addition to the Border Patrol agent(s) who also were murdered with those same weapons.

We have currently a Defense Secretary who has told Congress that he gets his marching orders from NATO and the United Nations, unconstitutionally by-passing Congress altogether. But he did say that he would inform Congress of actions if it is deemed necessary.

This was never a perfect union and yet it managed to survive and prosper for over 200 years until the foundations of that union began to crumble. There are many places we can point to, but one of the most significant is the Federal Reserve Act of 1913.

Then President Woodrow Wilson admitted that he sold out the nation when he signed that bill into law. Several Presidents since that time expanded the control of the Federal Reserve over the nation’s currency, no doubt to deplete the gold reserves that kept our currency stable.

The promise of ending depressions was short-lived as we all know that the markets crashed in 1929 and many banks failed, leaving the country in a Great Depression, with many homeless and unemployed. It wasn’t until the united States declared war against Japan and finally joined the alliance in Europe fighting Hitler and the Nazis before a sense of recovery began.

Americans seem to have very short term memory when it comes to history. Somehow they allow the same foolish policies to be repeated and they expect better results. History proved time and again that a nation cannot survive purely on borrowing and giving benefits to people who are not productive members of the nation’s society..

When Franklin Delano Roosevelt signed the bills that started Social Security, it was by design a Ponzi scheme, one which could never fulfill the promise of a retirement account for the individuals paying into it. The reality is that it is another method of taxation. But the real problems with Social Security began when Lyndon Baines Johnson became President and raided the funds to pay for a war in Vietnam. By doing so, the nation didn’t raise a ruckus over more debt. It was also during his tenure that the Medicare tax was instituted, yet another method of bilking the fruits of one’s labor.

This nation has trusted its elected representatives to protect their interests and they have not only failed to live up to those expectations and promises, but in fact have sold us out in every way imaginable. By taking over so much of the decisions of the individual, the government has become our nanny, telling us what we may or may not do, regardless of the unconstitutional laws, mandate, policies, and regulations it forces upon us.

Americans have grown fat and lazy while the nation has been taken over gradually by corporations. They have succumbed to slavery plain and simple. They would rather do with less that is provided for them, than to strive for more which they can keep for themselves or share with those truly in need.

The basic rights of the individual have been systematically replaced with permissions granted by the government. Public policy has replaced common law and common sense and logic. Look at how many nations that embraced communism, fascism, socialism, totalitarianism, have all failed to sustain them and eventually crumbled. From the mighty Roman Empire to the late U.S.S.R. history demonstrates that only when people remain free and the nation’s government limited can a nation prosper.

Perhaps we can survive another four years. I’m an not so confident that we can. We are on the edge of a precipice and we are not the only nation that faces crisis. We have become morally as well as financially bankrupt. We have become a People divided instead of united.

Perhaps as I have written in past, this great experiment is over and it failed. We will not have long to wait to find out!
