By The People

There are fundamental flaws in how American government operates today,
contrary to the Constitution and the vision of a representative republican form of governance.
I intend doing something about it: by educating and informing others who
are not even aware of the dangers.

Merry Christmas!

I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a peaceful time together with family and friends. So often we take for granted the gifts that we have to enjoy all throughout the year.

As I was catching up on some emails and newsletters that I haven't had time to read, I noticed how many power companies signed contracts to purchase power from companies that either erected large wind turbines on privately owned or leased lands or solar arrays that also produce multiple megawatts of power.

Now forgive me if I seem a bit "dumb" by all this, but it seems to me that the best way to introduce that cleanly produced energy to the business and residential consumer would have been by placing the solar panels and or wind turbine(s) on the rooftops of the businesses and dwellings themselves, or at the very least, on the grounds of those occupancies.

I fail to see why it is a requirement that our tax dollars provide incentives for the very companies that enslave us all to them. Is it just me or do others see the lack of accountability toward the taxpayer in this?

For the Christian population, today represents the birth of Jesus, the gift of God the Creator to all humanity. So in that spirit, I too would like to offer a gift to the American People in the form of suggestion and a prayer.

First I suggest that you call, write, fax, attend a town hall meeting, and tell your Representatives in the House and Senate to vote "NO!" on this socialist health care bill now before them. This bill will do nothing but cause medical care to become a rationed government program, produce waits for routine examinations and treatment for months, and will limit the types of care a person may be entitled to based on their income, credit score, or even their age. Maybe the Congress did not read all the pages, which of course they need to BEFORE voting for it, but they didn't, but I read enough to know that it is a outrage that will make all Americans more encumbered to the government's policies.

Now may I offer my prayer:

I pray that Americans will awaken on January 1st, 2010 with a resolution to bring America back to the "Republic for which it stands, as one nation under God, with Liberty and Justice for All."

Liberty will only be had by those that remain vigilant to protect it.

Fight Organized Crime: Abolish the Federal Reserve

With the east snowed in and the west (here anyway) getting ready for some more rain in the valley and snow in the mountains, I got to thinking about the snowball that will become an avalanche to the American economy and taxpayer with the beginning of a new year.

Americans need to know why we are in financial crisis and that the government cannot provide the answers. The reason they can't is because the Federal Reserve makes decisions that effect our lives in secret. They claim that is done to protect the markets from speculators that would take their deliberations as signals to use to buy or sell stock. They claim that interest rate changes made known before official announcements are made could also give a few an unfair "insider trading" advantage.

The truth about our American currency is that it is a sham. It's counterfeit and worthless paper and fancy inks. There is no asset value to the money we call legal tender for all debts public and private. In fact, I am thinking about insisting on payment in silver or gold. I would probably get paid in copper or a few silver pieces, but certainly not pieces of eight. In that way, no matter what the paper or electronic exchange system of credit and debit financial transactions, precious metals will always hold their value. Gold will never be worthless glitter, never!

We the people of these disorganized, poorly represented states of the Central North American continent will soon lose the national sovereignty that we hold to be so precious. The great foundations of the United States of America have been eroding for decades now, and current generations are not even aware of the significance of the Constitution rights and responsibilities of the people and the respective government elected by the people for their representation. We are losing it to become combined with Canada and Mexico as a new "political and trade" entity called the North American Union and will have as its currency the Amero. Yeah I know, sounds just like that crazy conspiracy theory bull-puckey.

We can never get out of debt when the value of the money we have is set by the central banks which are the secret owners of the Federal Reserve System. Currency without asset backing has no real value outside the dictates of the huge banks that are willing to except that currency in fair trade value. But what does determine the value of asset-backed currency? In the case of the British Pound, it would be one pound of silver. The United States used to have Silver Dollars that were actually worth more on the international market than it's one US dollar value because the weight of silver in that dollar may have risen on other monetary systems, but for us at least, we are not effected by it unless we are dealing with foreign markets.

Why did this nation really go from a sound gold backed reserve system with coins of precious metals with real tangible value, to a system of credits and debits? The credits always seem to be on the plus side for the Federal Reserve and on the debit side for the American taxpayer. This happens in greater or lesser amounts depending on what? The mood of the money barons?

I feel it is my duty as a patriotic American to inform my fellow citizens of any transgressions against our basic Constitutional rights and responsibilities. In my way of thinking it would be treasonous if I did not make others aware of these unscrupulous and felonious acts that are perpetrated on the people of this nation with our government's sanction and support. Congress passed laws to create the Internal Revenue Service and to levy taxes on all Americans. But that is a topic for another time.

There are bills currently before both houses, HR1207 and S604 which both call for auditing the Federal Reserve. I feel that as far as they will go to make public the transactions of out tax dollars, it will not replace the reason that the Federal Reserve Act must be repealed and Congress must have ready a plan to coin currency and set its value.

Gold and silver coin will be used to provide tangible valued currency for exchange of goods and services. Paper money which will be Gold or Silver Certificates, will then be used in lieu of bulky and heavy coin but must be accepted for exchange of its equivalent value of gold or silver on demand by a US Treasury Reserve Bank which will also supply local private banks with exchange of certificates or metal coin and bullion.

Do your own research my dear and fellow American Patriots, before Old Glory will be replaced with a new "corporate" flag of the new Union of North American States.

Merry Christmas!

Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Healthcare

It's been a while since I have posted so I thought it was time that I did. A lot has been going on in my life and I have been busy handling many different tasks.

I have started being a caregiver for a very good friend that suffered a massive stroke. That in itself will be taking up a good part of my time. But I want to stay active in the Libertarian ideology for fixing America, so I am looking at starting a blog talk radio show possibly in January. I will invite guests and I will of course have to have listener call-ins.

So now that I let you in on my life, lets get to the liberty and healthcare issues. Any public option is socialized medicine. And anyone that has read the bill would see how that can be used to adversely affect the patient. Now of course Congress will reassure you that is not the intent of the legislation, but how can they say that when they haven't read it themselves?

There needs to be a law that simply put, Congress cannot pass a law that Congress itself has not read and fully understands. And then explain it to the people that elected you, so that they can offer there own feelings and opinions regarding its benefits to We the People.

The biggest problem with health care is health care coverage. Health care plans are not insurance plans because it is not there as insurance if something goes wrong, it is there to provide the maintenance one needs today in an under nourished and over medicated nation. Quick remedies with flashy ads and strange sounding names have replaced common sense.

The technologies that have made a difference in human health are not drugs. Refrigeration that allows foods to be stored longer without spoilage, basic hygiene as is washing hands after handling anything that can be a possible source of bacteria and virus.

Now medical science on the other hand made leaps and bounds until drugs became the way of the future, our present in medicine.May may now possess the ability to look into the micro world of living virus to observe it in vitro. We have the ability to test non-invasive means such as light and sound and even radio waves to treat and heal.

Simple remedies lick apple cider vinegar and hydrogen peroxide are not even mentioned when we have names like Tamiflu and Nyquil. And it helps relieve all those symptoms. Yes, but it offers no cure for what caused those symptoms and that is the key to my opposition to any health care bill which does not first and foremost, address why health care costs go up.

And if people are getting sicker then it's because of all the processed foods, high fructose corn syrup, fluoride toothpaste, fruits and vegetables that have little real nutritional value, and quick fix drug relief from every little annoyance one may encounter physically.

I'll end my monologue here as I contemplate my Christmas blog.

And Happy Chanukah!

Stay out of my medicine cabinet!

The FDA recently has demanded that Proctor & Gamble stop selling its Vick's Nyquil products which contain vitamin C because it violates the mixing of supplements with drugs. Now to some this may seem trivial, but in reality it is a blow against the supplement market in general, and against the rights of an individual to pursue a course of treatment they feel comfortable with for their own health.

Contrary to the FDA and AMA position regarding the use of natural supplements, I have found that these supplements have done more to enhance my own health and reduce my need to visit professional health care practitioners significantly. Recently, while battling a kidney stone, I used chamomile tea for pain and apple cider vinegar to reduce the stone(s) for passing. The only other treatment was using a heating pad on the area in pain, and that also proved to be most effective, and I did not have to ingest any pain medications at all.

My Grandfather who was a physician for over 50 years, and a man that I respected more than anyone, insisted that drugs treat symptoms and do not cure diseases. I see advertisements on television for drugs that relieve symptoms of allergies, arthritis pain, Asthma, erectile dysfunction, cholesterol, and the list goes on. No cures offered, only relief of the symptoms. But at what price?

If drugs don't cure, then why are we being "forced" to take them? If natural supplements work within the body to build and reinforce the immune system, then why are they ostracized? Plain and simple, it is all about profits. The AMA has done nothing short of extorting from the drug manufacturers, to lobby the government to keep out any real cures from reaching the public.

Americans must be informed, they must be made aware of treatments and cures that do work, even though they have not been sanctioned by the AMA or the FDA. The FDA needs to be held accountable to the people, and not to the AMA and the pharmaceutical companies that profit from this collusion.

Let your Congressional representatives know how you feel and demand they take action on your behalf. After all, they do work for us, and not the lobbyists from corporations.

The Homeland Security Appropriations Act (H.R. 2892)

Most people are aware of how "pork-barrel" spending bills that may not be popular outside of a representatives constituency get through Congress on the backs of other more popular legislative acts, but it is not always about spending. It the case of the REAL ID act being placed on a military funding bill, it was made into law despite the objections of the majority of Americans.

The Homeland Security Appropriations Act has done a similar misdeed, by including a law that allows prisoner abuse to be covered up, something no honest American would have allowed to stand on its own. But like the REAL ID act it will be signed into law by the President and although it may ultimately prove unconstitutional, it will be quite an uphill court battle to get it overturned.

Although the courts ordered the DoD to release documents and photos of prisoner abuse pertinent to lawsuit filed by the ACLU, and according to an article in the Los Angeles Times, "After a court ordered the Bush administration to respond to the request, the Defense Department acknowledged the existence of the prisoner-abuse photos but sought to withhold them from the public on the grounds that their disclosure could provoke violence against U.S. troops and others in Afghanistan and Iraq."

This legislation is passed as expected by the Senate will basically let Congress and the new Administration off the hook, and allow both the abuse and the cover-ups to continue. I urge readers to write to their elected representatives in both houses and demand that this is stricken from the bill, as it allows the DoD to circumvent the rights of prisoners that were guaranteed by the Geneva Convention and by our own Constitution.

I know that there are many who will claim that our enemies do not follow those laws and treat our troops in captivity poorly. But we must be held accountable and set a better example of higher standards rather than than stoop to a level that is beneath our own principles of morality and human rights.

Lead by example and not by force.

The Late Great Internet: How Freedom Died

It was the grassroots campaign launched throught the Internet that got Obama the nomination over Hillary Clinton and into the White House. Now the Administration and the partisan Congress wants to end Internet freedom and usurp privacy under the guise of "cybersecurity." And the liberals in government think this is a good idea.

I am sick and tired of hearing and reading how our Constitutional rights are being unlawfully taken away. We really need to get back to the Constitutional government that was intended by our founders.

The right of the people to free speech, to peaceably assemble, and to petition their government for a redress of grievances is inclusive of all media of which we have available to us and the Internet is part of that media. To allow government to pass laws and take from us those freedoms is criminal, treasonous, and a flagrant breach of the oaths each elected representative swore to uphold. We the people do have the right to recall these lying criminals. But I guess the question remains, "who will replace them?"

It is my intent to inform the public and educate them in how they can protect their Constitutional rights and return the power of governance back to the sovereign states and hence to the people themselves.

Senate bill 773: Cybersecurity Act of 2009 is a flagrant disregard for due process and an invasion of privacy. Contained in the language of this bill is "The Secretary of Commerce— shall have access to all relevant data concerning (critical infrastructure) networks without regard to any provision of law, regulation, rule, or policy restricting such access…" which to me is a criminal act in and of itself.

There is no precedence for taking away the peoples rights, and no bill signed into law, no Executive Order, that is unconstitutional should be followed by the people, nor allowed to be enforced. And those that do are committing treason.

Mandatory Vaccinations

The recent H1N1 Swine Flu virus scare has many lining up for flu shots. Massachusetts is looking to make this mandatory as is other states. I am stating publicly that I will not comply and urge everyone else to refuse this as another abuse of power and infringement of out rights.

It seems that we are losing liberties at an alarming rate. Being "forced" to have a flu shot and to wear an ID bracelet for tracking people that have been vaccinated will do nothing to prevent the outbreak and spread of disease. These blatant infringements on the rights of the American people. When will this Orwellian abuse of power end? When did we give up our rights to choose what is best for ourselves?

Thomas Jefferson said, "Sometimes it is said that man cannot be trusted with the government of himself. Can he, then be trusted with the government of others? Or have we found angels in the form of kings to govern him? Let history answer this question."

We have much more history now than Mr. Jefferson to show that his words still ring true today. I have never had a flu shot and never will. That is my right of choice and I will be damned if any government will take my rights away even in the name of national security or health.

Open Wide: Pelosi's Puppets Ram Debilitating Food Safety Bill Through

I posted this last spring, attended a town hall meeting with Congressman Peter DeFazio (D-OR) and he assured us that it was only a rumor with no basis in fact. It is really time for a revolt in America against this fascism.

The more people sit by and do nothing the more of our freedoms and rights will be taken away. Do they really think we will buy this as a good thing for food safety? More government involvement in the lives of us citizens is unjust and blatantly unconstitutional. Petition to recall these slobs from office before we all are imprisoned for growing our own gardens outside of USDA control. Can't speak for all but I will be resisting this and will continue to revolt against this socialist regime in Washington.

President Obama, get out of my private life and take your stooges with you. Can we recall a resident for usurping the Constitution? I don't care about prosecution, I do care about freedom and you sir, have no clue.

Abolish Organized Crime: End The Federal Reserve System

With all of the economic issues that face America and the rest of the world, it does seem apparent that no matter how much money is thrown at the problem, it does not go away. All we are doing is getting further and further into debt, and the buying power of the US dollar is rapid declining.

The video above is to educate and not to instill fear in you. It is the banking elite who as spin the fear, uncertainty and doubt (FUD) that is the cause of our economic issues around the globe. Fiat money is paper money with no inherent value. That is what we have had in the united States of American since a handful of Congressional leaders usurped the monetary system with the passage of the unconstitutional Federal Reserve Act of 1913.And no one in government has had the courage to stand up to this fraud save for Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX) with his HR 604 and S 1207 bills to Audit the Fed.

While I do agree with him that an audit is what is needed, it does not go far enough to restore fiscal integrity and responsibility to the nations monetary system. But We The People can do something about that.

Credit unions do not operate under the same rules as banks, in that they are "owned" by the members, the depositors. In that sense members have voting rights and can exercise those rights to reduce the fractional lending practices allowed by the Federal Reserve System. Over a trillion dollars was "lent" by the Fed and the Inspector General of the Fed could not answer questions (would not?) pertaining to where that money went, when asked by FL Representative Grayson recently. But where was the outrage? Why wasn't it front page news and the opening story on the major TV networks? The only reason that I saw it was thanks to CSPAN.

If we are going to save American sovereignty, we all must take action now, before it's too late.

Is there really a "Free Energy" machine?

It seems that there are many so-called free energy devices with claims of "over-unity" energy production. But do they really work? Are these devices all scams and chicanery or is there a concerted effort to suppress the technology.

I have followed these devices since I first read about Nikola Tesla and radiant energy about 35 years ago or more. I have experimented with others on building devices and have witnessed for myself some remarkable phenomena that cannot be explained by conventional physics. We have even demonstrated experiments to lettered physicists who claim that while they cannot explain what was taking place, there were sure that the "anomaly" was NOT due to some unknown energy source as that is "impossible" since all known sources are documented.

So who is right and why? Can there be nothing new in physics that be discovered?

Why are we going broke in the richest nation in the world?

This excellent documentary should be a requirement for every American to watch.

As Thomas Jefferson said, "If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks, and the corporations which grow up around them, will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."

Health Care Issues

There has been quite a bit of protests and name calling on both sides of the isle as lawmakers are debating HR3200 Health Care Reform. I think the problems with health care cannot be fixed by an act of Congress, at least not by the methods proposed in HR3200.

Starting with alternative medicine, it would best serve the American people to allow homeopathic and naturopathic remedies and treatments to be administered. Herbal supplements have been used for thousands of years, and would still be used today if not for the proliferation of pharmaceuticals. Being raised in a family with doctors I feel qualified to say that the AMA is the biggest reason that health care costs have steadily risen and are getting out of control. The AMA under the tutelage of Morris Fishbein suppressed treatments and remedies that were economical and most relevant, effective, instead backing pharmaceutical companies that have paid huge royalties to medical association over the years. The FDA is bamboozled by the hype of new drugs daily, drugs that have not been adequately tested in clinical trials to determine their effectiveness and most importantly, their safety.

I read yesterday about the Canadian healthcare system and its problems, and also about what is going on in Great Britain with their socialized medicine program. I have friends that liive in Canada and abroad. While they are reciving the health care they need to stay alive, they have little if any choice in their own health care decisions. As one told me, "The God/doctors are the final word." Sure you may request a second opinion, but it is rare that it will differ from the first.

They are reaching out to the private sector for help as they are unable to meet the demands of the patients and in some cases are looking to postpone or cancel elective surgeries and even cancer surgery when the cost cannot be justified based on life expectancy (surviving the procedure and recovery) and their ability to treat younger and healthier patients with less expensive treatments. Will that happen here if tehe HR3200 bill goes into law?

Can we afford to chance it?

Is it me?

I'm sitting here looking at two screens. One I was reading my email and the other I was reading posts on a forum. I was a bit distracted by an email that had a link to a video. In it, a woman gets up during what appears to be a town hall type meeting with a local Congressman, and she brings up the Obama birth certificate issue. She gets a standing roaring ovation from the crowd, but more importantly, the person that posted this video on their blog, was trying to make it seem that this is the reason that the Republican Party is losing ground.

Now I know that this story has been bantered about since before the votes were cast and counted, A PA attorney even tried to get the election postponed or at the very least, get a replacement candidate unless the issue could be resolved before said election. He was a Democrat. Personally it seems like a moot point to me as America has made her choice and is good with it.

But I am a Libertarian and care less about the posturing between the Dems and Reps than I do about the consistent erosion of Constitutional rights and liberties. These lasted over two hundred years as the backbone of the nation. Except for the usurping of the American monetary system by the member banks of the Federal Reserve, we pretty much had Constitutional Government working but it still has its flaws, And one thing that is clear in the Constitution is that the President must be a natural born citizen of the United States to be eligible for office. Now, is the issue just sill banter or is there a reason why this continues to be talked about?

All that is required to put this puppy to sleep is for Obama to produce his original birth certificate in a legible format for all to see. End of controversy once and for all.

Small, Low Speed Wind Turbine

alternative energy: Small, Low Speed Wind Turbine

Finally, an affordable wind turbine that will pay for itself in short time. With state and federal incentives, start asking at your Ace Hardware for one today. And tell 'em where you found out too.

With all of the tax incentives for alternative energy it makes this a very affordable addition to any new home built. All federal and state buildings must use wind turbines and solar panels, and require they be manufactured in the US.

Bad Milk

Every now and then a story comes across my desk or screen that makes me wonder about what others are seeing and hearing when they watch and listen to the news. This one was posted on AboveTopSecret and while I do not subscribe to conspiracy theories per se, it seems evident in this piece that a conspiracy is taking place and that is not mere theory.

The wrong road to reducing emissions

by Peter DeFazio, guest opinion
Monday January 26, 2009, 6:00 PM

Peter DeFazio

Deregulation brought a meltdown in our electricity markets with market manipulation, profiteering and higher costs to consumers without benefits. Remember Enron? Deregulation was also a major contributor to the recent Wall Street-led financial crisis. Now powerful forces in Washington, D.C., and Salem are pushing a market-based (read unregulated) cap-and-trade system to address the problem of climate change.

A cap-and-trade system works by setting a cap on greenhouse gas emissions and then giving participants credits to pollute up to the established cap. Participants may buy, trade and sell credits in an unregulated market to meet their emission targets. In theory, emissions will drop as the number of credits available each year is reduced. It's a good idea on paper.

But like deregulated U.S. energy and financial markets, a cap-and-trade system is prone to market manipulation.

Alarmingly, cap-and-trade proposals being considered in Washington, D.C., and Salem would allow unregulated entities -- such as investment banks and hedge funds -- to participate in the market. These entities -- really, speculators -- don't have emissions to cut. Their goal is to make profits.

Speculation has been ruinous in Europe where a cap-and-trade system was implemented in 2005. Unregulated entities are profiting at the expense of regulated businesses by buying up credits to pollute, hoarding them until the price increases, and then selling them for inflated returns. The result? greenhouse gas emissions continue to rise despite $60 billion worth of credits being traded in the lucrative European market each year. The cost of business is rising and consumers are paying the premium.

Apply this to a U.S. market, expected to be three times the size of Europe's. The opportunities for economic competitors with large reserves of dollars (think China and Saudi Arabia) to manipulate and abuse the market would be enormous. Similarly, the possibilities are ripe for a few powerful speculators to bring Oregon's small market to its knees.

To add insult to injury, proposals in Washington, D.C., and Oregon would give a large portion of the pollution credits to the energy industry based on historical emission levels free of charge. The idea is to cushion the fall in profits for regulated entities when they start to cut emissions. This works out to a potential $100 billion giveaway to the oil, gas and coal industries in the first year alone of a nationwide system. Total giveaways to industry through the life of the market would be mind-numbing, making the Wall Street bailout seem like pocket change.

Despite these obvious problems, federal and state lawmakers are poised to move forward with a cap-and-trade system. I'm working in Washington to oppose this proposal and to find an alternative. One option that needs further exploration is to establish a emissions cap and to direct polluters to either reduce emissions or to purchase certified offsets (reductions from other entities) to meet emission targets.

But given the devastating impact of past deregulation on U.S. energy and financial markets, I have serious concerns about using a "market-based approach" to solve serious problems. My colleagues in Congress, and Oregon legislators, would be wise to do their homework on a cap-and-trade system before moving forward with more deregulation.

Peter DeFazio, a Democrat, represents Oregon's 4th District in the U.S. House of Representatives.

It seems that I am not alone in my thinking about the cap and trade market doing little to move to energy independence or reduce the GHG emissions. All it will do is create yet another way for the financial sector to profit and the consumers get squat.

Judge rules family can't refuse chemo for boy

So who knows better how to care for your child's health, you or your government?

By AMY FORLITI, Associated Press Writer Amy Forliti, Associated Press Writer – 45 mins ago

MINNEAPOLIS – A Minnesota judge has ruled that a 13-year-old boy with a highly treatable form of cancer must seek conventional medical treatment over his parents' objections.

In a 58-page ruling Friday, Brown County District Judge John Rodenberg found that Daniel Hauser has been "medically neglected" and is in need of child protection services.

Rodenberg said Daniel will stay in the custody of his parents, but Colleen and Anthony Hauser have until May 19 to get an updated chest X-ray for their son and select an oncologist.

The judge wrote that Daniel has only a "rudimentary understanding at best of the risks and benefits of chemotherapy. ... he does not believe he is ill currently. The fact is that he is very ill currently."

Daniel's court-appointed attorney, Philip Elbert, called the decision unfortunate.

"I feel it's a blow to families," he said. "It marginalizes the decisio
ns that parents face every day in regard to their children's medical care. It really affirms the role that big government is better at making our decisions for us."

What about the Privacy Act(1973)?

A friend of mine recently was pricing high speed Internet services from competitors in the area where he has moved to when he was confronted by a customer service who wanted his social security number. My friend refused to give his SSID and was told that it was a FCC requirement that customers be properly identified. My friend informed the CSR that printed on his SS card where the words, "not to be used for identification... " to which the CSR replied, "Whuh?" (think of Tim the ToolMan Taylor)

For the record the company was Comcast Cablevision, and I strongly oppose the policy of requiring a social security number in order to obtain their services. "Papers, papers please!" will be the demand from the conductor on the train, and the stewardess as she checks your boarding pass and papers. We are gradually being conditioned to think that this is all for our own good. I think not!

Americans on the average are allowing this to happen and think that those of us that oppose it are anti-American, or worse, Liberal Democrats. Well I am even further afield than that my friends as I am a registered Libertarian, and I do NOT attend any meetings or party banquets. I do agree with most of their political views however and this invasion of privacy must cease and desist.

Please take a moment of your time and write a letter to Congress and send a copy to Comcast and the FCC. Stop this ebb of liberties before you have no liberty at all.

NASA Outsourcing Space Station Transport to SpaceX

Occasionally, outsourcing does make sense, especially when we are dealing with a government agency wrought with politics and bureaucracy such as NASA is. Elon Musk founder of PayPal has invested heavily in his new company Space X - Space Exploration Technologies and has been rewarded with a $1.6 billion dollar contract to provide the resupply program for the ISS when NASA's Space Shuttle is finally retired next year.

Mr. Musk and Burt Ruttan's private space venture along with Sir Richard Branson are making real headway into opening up space for commericial and private ventures. But will any of this result in "breakthrough propulsion" systems? Will we see in our lifetimes the coloniztaion of other planets and moons?

Researchers Find Massive Botnet On Nearly 2 Million Infected Consumer, Business, Government PCs

More than 70 government-owned domains hit, and nearly half of the overall infections are in the U.S.

Researchers have discovered a major botnet operating out of the Ukraine that has infected 1.9 million machines, including large corporate and government PCs mainly in the U.S.

The botnet, which appears to be larger than the infamous Storm botnet was in its heyday, has infected machines from some 77 government-owned domains -- 51 of which are U.S. government ones, according to Ophir Shalitin, marketing director of Finjan, which recently found the botnet. Shalitin says the botnet is controlled by six individuals and is hosted in Ukraine.

Aside from its massive size and scope, what is also striking about the botnet is what its malware can do to an infected machine. The malware lets an attacker read the victim's email, communicate via HTTP in the botnet, inject code into other processes, visit Websites without the user knowing, and register as a background service on the infected machine, for instance. The bots communicate with their command and control systems via HTTP.

Botnet expert Joe Stewart says it appears to be similar to other downloader-type botnets. "It looks a lot like other downloader bots out there," says Stewart, director of malware research for SecureWorks. "It has a system for installing other malware and getting paid for it. The first stage is to get the bot piece onto the machine, and then they get paid to install other malware."

Finjan says victims are infected when visiting legitimate Websites containing a Trojan that the company says is detected by only four of 39 anti-malware tools, according to a VirusTotal report run by Finjan researchers.

"We don't have our hands on the actual [stolen] data, but we can tell a lot of what they [may be] doing with it by the malware," Shalitin says. "They can use it for spam, [stealing data], and almost almost anything."

Around 45 percent of the bots are in the U.S., and the machines are Windows XP. Nearly 80 percent run Internet Explorer; 15 percent, Firefox; 3 percent, Opera; and 1 percent Safari. Finjan says the bots were found in banks and large corporations, as well as consumer machines.

Shalitin says it appears that the botnet operators may be buying and selling bots or portions of their botnet based on a communique Finjan discovered on an underground black-hat hacker forum in Russia.

Having a Good Business Plan

The governor of the state of Oregon looks like he is making a good move toward clean energy and creating jobs and economic growth for his state. On the other hand, GM is partnering with Segway, the makers of those two wheeled pedestrian mobility devices that you plug in to charge. I would say that based on what I see, Nissan has the better business plan and that is why bailing out GM is a bad idea.

Governor: Electric cars are Oregon’s future

The Associated Press • April 6, 2009

PORTLAND — Gov. Ted Kulongoski continues to pitch Oregon as the nation’s all-electric vehicle hub.
At a news conference the governor test drove a Nissan all-electric vehicle this morning — the same vehicle he drove during his November trade visit to Asia.

Right before Kulongoski jumped behind the wheel, he described the all-electric technology and green technology in general as “the future of Oregon’s economy” and environment.
Nissan plans to bring all-electric vehicles to Oregon in late 2010. The state will be one of the nation’s first markets.
On Tuesday, a Norway-based company will come to town as it searches for a U.S. location for an electric car manufacturing plant.

Mike Gansler, Director of Core Technology with Segway Inc., drives a Personal Urban Mobility and Accessibility, or PUMA, project prototype vehicle in New York's Times Square on Sunday, April 5, 2009. Segway Inc. and General Motors Corp. announced Tuesday that they are working together to develop the two-wheeled, two-seat electric vehicle designed to be a fast, efficient, inexpensive and clean alternative to traditional cars and trucks in an urban environment. Wake Up And Act Now

Not long ago, legislation was proposed (purportedly drafted on behalf of the AMA/FDA) that would have made vitamins and supplements available by prescription only. This blatantly takes away your right to alternative choices in health care. Now there is a bill that would make growing a garden regulated and controlled by government which will result in the end to home gardening and small farming, giving corporate agriculture exclusive monopoly over all the foods we eat. Of course that also takes away your right to be self sufficient which is a basic human right. Barcodes and RFID tags will follow everything that is human made or grown. Everything you eat, every show you watch in theaters or on television will be known. With the concept of the “smart grid” being proposed, it will work to monitor “smart appliances” and can shut off or turn down energy usage without your consent or knowledge.

Am I being paranoid or is there real indications that we are being subjected to shock and fear so that we will then be more willing to listen to anything that promises to make our lives more stable? Eric Fromm wrote Escape From Freedom prior to the rise of National Socialism in Germany, not as a political work, but a psychological context of how people generally act when they are under stress and fear.

Obama sets tight auto aid terms

Is there a point where Americans say "That's enough?" Let capitalism run its natural course and stop burying us in debt that will enslave us for decades to come.

Thursday, March 19, 2009

Bonues and Earmarks

Obama said no earmarks, but there were. Taxpayer dollars became promised bonuses for executives that participated in the companies' failing and money troubles. When will Americans wake up?

What will it really take before America sees through all of the spin to what is really going on? How long will you accept lies just to make you feel good and go out and create yet more debt? How long can we keep raising the credit limit before we accept that fact that we cannot pay the old limits?

Before you go to bed tonight, I urge you all to take an honest look around you. Look at what really matters to you the most, a wife or husband, children, a mother or father, The love you feel for them and the responsibility you accepted to care for them. Now look and see if you can honestly say that the government or the corporations that are getting all of these bailouts feel anything at all for those that you love. Be honest with yourself even if you cannot tell anyone else. But when you have to go to the polls and vote, let these feelings guide you because its honest about how you really feel, before and after the propaganda.

Secret State Police Report: Ron Paul, Bob Barr, Chuck Baldwin, Libertarians are Terrorists

Kurt Nimmo
Infowars
March 11, 2009

Alex Jones has received a secret report distributed by the Missouri Information Analysis Center (MIAC) entitled “The Modern Militia Movement” and dated February 20, 2009. A footer on the document indicates it is “unclassified” but “law enforcement sensitive,” in other words not for public consumption. A copy of the report was sent to Jones by an anonymous Missouri police officer.

The MIAC report specifically describes supporters of presidential candidates Ron Paul, Chuck Baldwin, and Bob Barr as “militia” influenced terrorists and instructs the Missouri police to be on the lookout for supporters displaying bumper stickers and other paraphernalia associated with the Constitutional, Campaign for Liberty, and Libertarian parties.

Common Sense

Diversity is a term that divides instead of unites. It is common for so-called progressives or liberals to use this term believing that is brings people together. The results however prove contrary to that aspiration.

Here is a short video that explains why we are failing in America.

Some state lawmakers fighting federal stimulus

Just in from AP News:
By TRAVIS ANDERSEN, Associated Press Writer Travis Andersen, Associated Press Writer 2 hrs 15 mins ago

CONCORD, N.H. – For small-government die-hards, the $787 billion economic stimulus bill recently passed by Congress isn't a life saver. It's the last straw.

Lawmakers across the country are sponsoring resolutions — most of them only symbolic — asserting state sovereignty, in effect the right to ignore any federal law or policies they deem unconstitutional, including the stimulus bill, the No Child Left Behind Act and any new assault rifle ban.

In New Hampshire, the House is scheduled to vote on Republican state Rep. Daniel Itse's resolution Wednesday. Supporters are planning a rally at the Statehouse before the vote.

"I think that the specter of some assaults on our liberty have become so real and immediate that there is a reaction," Itse said.

Lawmakers in at least 15 states are sponsoring similar resolutions. They say they're fighting back against decades of federal overreach, culminating in the stimulus package.

"This has been a progression from (the New Deal) days to today, with the only break being Ronald Reagan," South Carolina state Rep. Michael Pitts said by e-mail. Pitts, a Republican, has a resolution pending in the South Carolina House. "The stimulus bill is simply propellant for the resistance."

In January, 22 percent of those surveyed by the Pew Research Center disapproved of the stimulus. That number rose to 34 percent in February. The survey — which polled about 1,300 respondents — has a sampling margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

Two lawmakers say they have received hundreds of calls from constituents supporting their resolutions. Michigan state Rep. Paul Opsommer, a Republican, said about 250 people have called or e-mailed to say thank you, whereas most of his bills draw fewer than 10 messages.

Missouri Republican state Rep. Cynthia Davis, whose resolution is pending in the House, said she has received at least 200 supportive messages from constituents and residents in other states.

"I'm getting letters from all over the country," Davis said. "It's really a beautiful thing, watching the spirit of the American Revolution come back."

Resolution sponsors cite the 10th Amendment, which says the federal government has no authority beyond the powers granted to it under the Constitution.

Ban Gun Laws not Guns

Back in January 2009, I posted a video about gun laws in great Britain. I was thinking how backwards society in general has become, believing the propaganda of pacifists and the privately-owned majority media that guns kill people and the less guns in the world, the safer the world will be.

This is all based on lies. Every dictator, every totalitarian government have taken weapons from its citizens and then proceeded to murder them. When a government wants to quell any descent from the civilian population, the weapons are confiscated first. Without any defense, they will comply with anything the government wishes or they will be eliminated. Bullets are cheaper than cells or internment camps.

There are many articles regarding the UN Arms Trade Treaty both supporting and condemning it. Some claim that it is merely an international registry and  that it would provide benefit to have a registration for a weapon in case it may be used in the commission of a crime.

Many Americans feel that it is an invasion of privacy and a blatant invasion of their rights as explicitly stated in the Constitution. I tend to side with the latter.

The right to bear arms and to form militias within the communities was the civil law enforcement the founders envisioned. This provides for the various needs of the people considering their location and environment. Obviously law enforcement boats would not be required in the Rockies, nor would snowmobiles be relevant in the coastal areas. The calling up of the militias in times of declared war was another issue that did in no war restrict the citizens from having personal weapons. There purposefully were no restrictions placed on weapons as the needs of the individual is of greatest concern for safety.

I felt it was necessary to bring this blog post forward and update it, with the motivation of stimulating debate and discussion on the issue by readers.

Radiation Danger

Sunlight, Lighting And Your Health

THIS IS A WIDELY IMPORTANT ISSUE WHICH AFFECTS EVERY ONE OF US AND REFERS TO A PUBLICATION IN A NEW ZEALAND NEWSPAPER, THE "EASTERN BAY NEWS" OF WHAKATANE, DATED 1st MAY 2003 TITLED "SAVING POWER WITH THESE TOP ENERGY WISE TIPS"

Dr. Robert Adams
Copyright © 2003 NZ

The writer draws the attention to the common claim that fluorescent lights are more efficient than orthodox Edison light bulbs. It is true that fluorescent lamps are more efficient to the tune of some thirty to eighty per cent (30 - 80%) but at a high health risk cost.

Having been involved with problems pertaining to these lights some many years ago, i.e., during the late 1950's, I was commissioned to remove every fluorescent light fitting in every Totalisator Agency Board office throughout New Zealand for the purpose of fitting radio interference suppressors to eliminate radiated noise developed by the fluorescence radiation of the lights (more on this matter and its relevance to health a little further on) and simultaneously installing anti-interference antenna systems which I had invented and patented at that time.

As always of an investigative mind, I decided to search further into this problem pertaining to these lights having found that the entire matter involved the "radio light spectrum" and other light frequencies which are invisible to the human eye whilst, however, radiating high levels of "radio active" energy containing the frequencies of x-ray, gamma and cosmic rays. There is no solution, even with total lead shielding of the starter unit, transformer capacitor sections and the tube cathode areas as it leaves the illuminating area of the tube itself free to radiate all manner of radio frequency and mercury vapour energies. The only way out is to outlaw them completely.

The general public is completely oblivious to this lurking danger to their health. This situation should be addressed with urgency. The general public is entitled to be made aware of this danger to their health and as there is now legislation in place to cover these kind of unforeseen risks attention to this paramount issue should be addressed and enforced immediately. Such action would result in savings of millions of dollars in medical care, not to mention human suffering as a result of the gross ignorance of the health authorities of the dangers involved in the widespread use of these lethal devices.

Millions of fluorescent lights exist in the offices of commerce, in factories, workshops, homes, schools, universities, colleges, airports, cafes and restaurants, hospitals ad infinitum — all radiating these dangerous energies into the unsuspecting public worldwide.

The effects of lighting on the human functioning development and psychological effects are indeed profound. Try placing seedlings/plants adjacent to an unshielded fluorescent light at the end where the starter unit is located, they will surely wilt and die, (and this is most certainly not attributable to "heat" radiation, a conclusion some may readily jump to). Unshielded fluorescent lights are a menace to mankind and should be replaced by standard Tungsten filament lighting.

Too many people, including doctors and general hospital staff, are spending far too much time indoors (an unfortunate occupational hazard as also found within other professions and trades) subjecting themselves to this continuous bombardment of colourless radioactive radiation from fluorescent lights, the worst of which are the soft white economical plug-in bulbs. These bulbs, although physically small, are nevertheless hazardous.

The powerful health benefits of man's bodily exposure to direct sunlight, i.e., ultra-violet rays, has been known to the ancients for thousands of years. History has it, however, that it was not taken up as a serious scientific matter by physicians until the 1800s when the healing properties of man's exposure to sunlight became manifest by way of serious observation and, later, more profound study and research. Such research heralded in breakthroughs of success in healing with ultra-violet during the 1870s.

I quote now a paragraph from Jacob Liberman's book "Medicine of the Future" pages 47 - 48 headed "Putting Prisoners in the Pink and Athletes in the Red":
