By The People

There are fundamental flaws in how American government operates today,
contrary to the Constitution and the vision of a representative republican form of governance.
I intend doing something about it: by educating and informing others who
are not even aware of the dangers.

Congress Will Hear Us!

Some things are self-evident and we don't have to refer to founding principles for guidance. We have the foundation that was set before us with the creation of a national government under the Constitution. It is up to us, We the People, to restrict that government to the constitutional limitations placed on it.

Social changes notwithstanding, the principles of a federal republic and the limitations of that federal government to protect the rights and property of the people, led to prosperity for as long as the representatives of the people operated within those constitutional limitations, and did truly represent the best interests of their constituents.

The purpose of government is not to produce laws, but to protect the people under the laws set forth that are constitutionally valid. Those laws that are prohibited by the Constitution are by their very nature, null and void under the limitations of the Constitution.

The love of liberty was the cause that birthed this nation and giving up that love will be its downfall.

Sheep of Fools!

We all laugh at stupidity when it is at someone else's expense. But what about stupidity when it has a lasting effect on your own life? Will you still laugh?

Are you laughing at how stupid this whole sequestration issue is? I am. The Obama Regime spins doom and gloom will certainly befall us if we don't spend more money that we don't have. Instead of simply admitting that he was wrong, the man in the White House wants us to believe that Republicans are to blame this crisis of budget befallen us.

To accentuate the stupidity, the Department of Immigration and Naturalization is releasing prisoners who are illegal aliens, claiming that sequestration is to blame. The stupidity in this is evident to anyone who can breathe on their own. The so-called sequestration only applies to less that 3% of the expansion of spending this Administration sought from the last round of spending increases that gave us a higher debt and the lowest credit rating than any other time in our nation's history.

Why don't they tell a few of our so-called allies that this year's charity will have to be cut so the government can pay for the services it promised the American People? No, they would rather scare the public into thinking that spending more money and giving up more rights is how it must be handled.

Yet, we can send aid to our enemies in the form of planes and tanks, give aid to nations that don't like us, give more aid to the enemies of our allies than we do to our friends, and Congress leads us to buy this snake oil as necessary for maintaining goodwill and peace.

Anyone with a brain can understand that the best way to make 'friends' with other nations is through good commerce and trade. That is the type of monetary relationship that both nations profit from so long as there is trust and good product to maintain that profit. Dr. Ron Paul earns credit for bringing this simple principle -that was understood so well by our founders- to the fore in his campaign for the Presidency, and both parties ignored his message.

Rome fell because those who did not earn a wage began to outnumber those who did. They voted themselves 'entitlements' on the taxes collected from those who earned to the point where those who earned could no longer maintain the nation's spending.

Proof that the epitome of insanity is repeating the same thing over and over and expect different results. These same fools whom we all elected, are leading the sheep to slaughter and most Americans are dancing down the path to the butcher!

This, That, and Another Thing

Having recently moved into a new place, I haven't really had time to even thing about what to write. So I thought I would simply catch up on what has been happening in current events since I also purchased a new TV to go with the high speed internet service and the HD cable package.

First, Secretary of Defense nominee Charles Hagel's confirmation is not going well. And with just cause as I explained in my recent post Chuck Chuck: No Defensive Senator for Defense Secretary and with his past remarks regarding Israel, he certainly needs to be withdrawn of the nomination.

Chris Dorner certainly had his fifteen minutes of fame. Now, is he dead or alive in Mexico somewhere? Nobody's talking. A recent post that I came across on Facebook indicates that it is a fish smelling story about how his identification managed to survive the inferno that leveled the mountain cabin he allegedly was holed up in. Seems like a Hollywood screenwriter was paid handsomely for that yarn. Just another media spin at the behest of the government to make the glazed-eyed masses believe the Second Article of Amendment to the Constitution for the united States of America somehow needs to be exclusive of certain types of arms.

Obama's State of the Union was more a campaign thump than an indication that he is serious about getting this nation back on the right track. Global warming is not our most pressing crisis. And being upstaged by Dr. Benjamin Carson did nothing to bruise the ego of the man occupying the Oval Office. Obama seems totally detached from what needs to be done and yet his personal agenda remains against every principle of a representative republic, and a strong reflection of his blatant narcissism.

John Kerry as Secretary of State is a step to the side if not a slide backwards from Hillary Clinton. With the Benghazi attacks still unaccounted for by the State Department and the President's seeming lack of interest when the murders were taking place, does nothing to instill any sense of confidence or safety in most Americans abroad.

Oh, and fuel prices are as high as there were last summer and it's not even March!

The Meaning of Liberty

In the past several months I have written about liberty and rights. I have used both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution as evidence of the commitment to liberty our founders made. But I cannot do the subject as much justice, nor can I offer the level of inspiration and motivation that I discovered in this short video with the late Paul Harvey.

In this monologue, Mr. Harvey explains the agenda of  the founders in a way that is contrary to those that I have learned in school or discovered for myself at the library in documentary texts or film.

I trust you will share this with others. We must all know and understand the real sacrifices made to bring this nation into being. It is most relevant that we learn from the past and know what is necessary to restore liberty while it is still possible to accomplish that goal through the ballot box.

But we also must remain vigilant and prepared to fight for our freedom in whatever manner circumstance may dictate.

History Repeats Itself!

It happened to the good people of Germany, when their own economy was in shambles after World War I. A leader emerged who promised the nation a rebirth. Changes for the better. It began in education, creating a movement in the youth to pave the way for a better future. Just like Germany, education was nationalized here in the United States. That was one of the fronts attacked to end liberty.

Soon, there were new laws that were for the "safety" of the people. Guns were confiscated from the evil Jews, then all guns were taken from the public. After all, the Gestapo handled all the security with the "help' of the people who willing turned in their friends and neighbors for just the slightest infraction to the Führer's laws. We have here in America, a media controlled by the government, that will spin the agenda of the current administration unlike any other in this nation's history.

Things never really got better. There were more wars to fight and all of Hitler's Youth Corps became the Nazi soldiers who fought against the Allied Forces throughout World War II. Although there are many differences, at least in general appearances, the parallels are extremely difficult to ignore.

Not unlike Germany, the United States has suffered a broken economy since the ending of Vietnam. Debt had accumulated to pay for the war, President Johnson raided the Social Security accounts in order to get the war past the voters without raising taxes. He would not seek re-election, obviously knowing that the economy would suffer without raising taxes to pay the debts accumulated from all the other "wars" he started.

One was called the "War on Poverty" and what we have now are millions of poor in what was the richest nation in the world.  The war on poverty created more poor instead of ending poverty. Instead of allowing the nation to create and innovate, government regulations curbed growth and created social programs to support those increasing numbers of unemployed.

Groups like the socialist activists of ACORN, taught people how to play the system, which they also lobbied to create. Even the communist countries who tool over the free markets and made them all state run, eventually could not produce enough to break even let alone prosper.

Our elected representatives now are allowing a narcissistic President to have carte blanche control and he ignores the rule of law in order to further his own agenda. Or is it his own?
