Awakening America!

The world is changing and many are left in panic. Fear dominates the progressive movement as more people are awakening and realizing that they can fair better without the shackles of government dependency.

The People of the many States are tasting true liberty, some for the first time, and others feeling a return to what made the united States of America an exceptional group of nation States, independent and yet united in common cause.

We are witnessing protests disguised as anger but in reality it is fear that motivates them. Many are motivated by greed and will gladly accept payment to be a disruptive force.  The Esteemed Readers and followers of this blog are well aware of the truly evil forces that are manipulating the public through all manners of corruption much of which remains unthinkable to a moral person.

Some may view the election of Donald J. Trump as a end in and of itself. I see it as an opportunity to save this nation and restore it to the representative republican form of self-governance that it was designed to be.

The attacks on our freedom are many and from as many different enemies of liberty and sovereignty. We the People now have a powerful tool at our disposal to truly Fix America in a President Trump. Our voices will be heard if we speak and take the proper actions.

Americans must take a bottom up approach to making things right. We all must run for local offices, City councils, county boards, school boards, and where possible, public utility boards. Take responsibility to invoke positive change while encouraging others to step up and run for public office.

Take back control of education for your children. You know what is best for your child so you need to bring that to the school boards. Involve yourselves in parent/teacher associations that can influence the local school boards.

Make changes in election laws and rules that take away the party control and return it to We the People as it was meant to be. End corporate donations, and political action funding. These groups have their own agendas and are usually not in our best interests at all.

The President is only one person, who, while may influence change and work with Congress to make change, it is still the duty of We the People to make sure that our government operates in our best interests and the any particular special interest group.

Americans Need to Awaken from a Sleep That Will Kill Them

Americans are due for a horrendous awakening. It will blind side them like a thug in a dark alley throwing a sucker punch:  and Americans will not be able to get back on their feet for round two. Round two will be the use of force, overwhelming force, and the use of the unlawful legal system (and everything it represents) to finish the American Way of Life (best represented by the time period spanning  seventeen-seventy-six to the eighteen fifties). The Esteemed Readers might wonder what is meant by the foregoing statements.

Slowly, step by step, all of the limitations on the Federal Government (as delineated by the Amendments to the constitution for the united States of America, the Bill of Rights) have been either directly or indirectly abrogated and the original fully ratified Thirteenth Amendment replaced by an unlawful different 13th Amendment (1864, 1865). This has been accomplished by well understood methods since the time of the 1850s. The original system of Common Law in the United States has been replaced by the legal system (USC, UCC, etc. which only has jurisdiction in the ten square miles of the District of Columbia) and this is falling away to a mixture of Admiralty Law, Roman Civil Law, International Law and Islamic Sharia Law. All of this unlawful activity is supported by an unlawful corporate Government. The following video explains some of the methods used by the people who run this country. 

Without Consent of the Governed

The People created a Constitution which in turn created a system of governance, which through the duties and responsibilities mandated by the Constitution is to serve the needs of the union of Free and Sovereign States not the incorporated states.  It is We the People who govern, and the corporate government that has replaced the system of governance has no constitutional authority.

The purpose of a system of governance under the Constitution is to defend the Sovereign States against foreign aggressors and guarantee the freedoms under the Bill of Rights, including life, liberty, and the ability to own property. It was never the purpose of the system of governance to control the People and the way they live.

We live in a state of confusion today, with regard to the function and purpose of those in Washington D.C., not because we have an uncontrollable government, but because we have a nation of People who are ignorant of the true purpose of a system of governance but are aware of a controlling corporate government, and would rather give up their freedoms to a corporate government willing to extend privileges to them for a price, than to take responsibility for themselves.

The education of children is the responsibility of their parents. If it was the mandate of constitutional governance to provide education it would have been included in the Constitution. Educational requirements are different from community to community. A one size fits all system of educational standards cannot benefit the student or the community within which he resides.

If there is to be made any investment in education, it must be from family participation and the private sector. The corporations with needs for skilled engineers must invest in the schools who provide them with the best candidates, and provide funding for those that merit a higher education . This benefits all parties concerned. Corporate Government subsidies on the other hand drive up the cost of education and it's mandates and standards deprive students of the truth and the very diversity the corporate government claims is a goal.

Health is a personal responsibility and health care is also your responsibility. The cost of health care is high because of how the system is designed. The deliberate interference of the AMA, FDA, CDC, DHHS, etc. and the exclusion or regulation of alternative medicine (suppression of natural medicine and other forms of treatment) benefits only the insurance and pharmaceutical corporations to the detriment of patients and providers alike.

We are a nation of immigrants and we adopted and created a system of common law, laws that were not created to make criminals, but to protect the States and their People. With nearly one million immigrants coming to the United States of America annually, immigration seems to work rather well for those who follow the law. Reforming immigration laws is analogous with reforming rape laws to accommodate the criminals instead of providing justice and restitution for the victims.

The current state of the union is in crisis. We have a corporate government that has taken control of nearly every aspect of an individual's life. We have a monetary system that is debt-based and enslaves everyone to the banks through the corporate state, both locally and nationally.

We have a Congress that is nothing more than a corporate board of directors who have very little say when it comes to the Chairman of the Board's tyrannical and treasonous actions. Instead of arrest or impeachment, they cower under the umbrella of a law suit, a frivolous waste of time and taxpayer resources.

If We the People want action, then it must be We the People who take that action, just as our patriotic founders did in defiance of George II and the banker controlled British Parliament.

What Has Happened to Our System of Governance?

The government of the United States of America has declared war on its own People and it is winning! Your life no longer belongs to you, it belongs to the government.

The government will decide the curriculum best suited for your child and what school they will attend. When they graduate, the government will place them in a government job that best suits the talents developed, which of course are always to serve the best interests of the government.

If it is determined that you do not raise your children in a manner that government approves, Child Protective Services will take them from you and assure they get a proper government approved upbringing. You can get all of the expensive attorneys you can afford or deal with a court appointed one. In the end it really won't matter because the courts that no longer serve justice will rule in favor of CPS and the government, because after all, who knows better on what is right for children than the government?

You will not be permitted to have any arms because you may do harm to others or yourself with them. Those found with arms or commit any crime with arms will be put to death; or at the government's discretion, given a sentence in a prison camp as a guard. 

The government will determine if you medical needs warrant the expense versus your potential worth to the government. In a nation of share the wealth, nobody can be permitted to burden society unless they are privileged by their service to the government and loyalty to their leader.

A Congress is no longer necessary since all they do is argue and never get anything done.  Some even bring up issues such as constitutionality, when it is clear, that anything government deems, “necessary and proper” or “promotes the general welfare” (from the government's point of view) is constitutional period. The President will determine what the best laws are and will just write an executive order to make it law. Those laws already written will be ignored or changed to best suit the needs of the government.

Even the Supreme Court, the highest court in the land cannot be questioned once they decide a law is constitutional. Why if that were permitted, every law the People don't like can be called into question. Government cannot permit such blatant disregard for the tyranny it forces upon us.

Liberty is rarely lost all at once. The branches are pruned off the Tree of Liberty, until it is either restored or destroyed. Government has been allowed to cut branches off the Tree of liberty by using fear as a tool to enact laws that deprive liberty for the promise of security. And every time another 'crisis' arises, another few liberties are taken away. 

Government can take all of your rights if you allow them to. The only thing they cannot take is free will.  That is the root from which the Tree of Liberty grows.  Free will in inherent in all of humanity and is our birthright. 

Have we reached the point of total enslavement by the government, now an entity unto itself?  Knowing what the government has become, it makes me wonder if Americans have forgotten who they are! (Or is it simply a matter of education?)

True Patriots: Lovers of Liberty

It is not easy to be a true patriot in the United States of America today. The main reason being that the government has written so many laws that violate individual and State's rights, that it will take decades to sift through them all and nullify them all.

One way of handling the problem is at the State level. So my challenge to myself as a patriot is not only to voice my grievances with my elected members of the House and Senate, which alone is a monumental task, but to convince my State representatives in Salem (that is the capital of Oregon for those of you who lack that knowledge) to nullify those federal laws and mandates that go beyond the limitations of the Constitution by the federal government. I will have to vet candidates who also are patriots, demonstrating by how they live their lives and not by their campaign promises and rhetoric.

This is how I choose to express my love of liberty and life. Standing up for principles in the face of social ideology of Utopia that disregards all logic and reason to push their own agenda. Our enemies are those who will take our liberty and property. Be that an extremist faction from a foreign country or a corrupt politician here at home. The causes may be different but for us, the result is the same. A government begins taking from one group to give to another. Problems begin when the number of givers are few when compared to the number of takers. That is a real problem in America that nobody wants to address. 

The Bill of Rights was included in the Constitution at the insistence of the State assemblies to protect their sovereignty and the individual sovereignty of their residents. Think about this: Why do the states have their own constitutions? Wasn't the one we gave the Federal Government sufficient? In fact, for the most part, each state constitution includes the U. S. Constitution within their own, in whole or part. Why?

The Constitution for the united States of America is essentially a contract. We the People, contract and consent to creating a national government with few and limited powers. The Tenth Amendment makes it clear that those powers not reserved for the federal government was reserved for the many States and to the People. The rights of the People are not limited to just those that are clearly defined. The idea that these rights in the Bill of Rights is what We get is erroneous in logic ans commons sense, neither of which was lacking in the founders of this once great nation.

Through indoctrination in the federal mandated and regulated public school system, we now have generations who do not know what the Constitution really is about. They think they get rights from the Constitution. They also think that whatever laws Congress enacts and the President signs, it the law of the land. They really don't know that there are no laws that are valid when they violate the Constitution. Because they don't know that the document is a contract.

Those first ten amendments were for the government to remember that when enacting legislation, the rights of the People and States must always be considered above all else but the very safety of the union itself. The pretense of war and the War Powers Act, the former a treasonous act against the People and the latter an example of unconstitutional acts that are meant to do nothing less than circumvent those very limits of power and the delegation of that power among the three government branches defined in the Constitution.

We also have powers and responsibilities as well. We are the fourth branch of government in a sense. We must protect and defend our rights and property, and that of our neighbors. As more Americans abdicate their power and responsibilities to a government they become enslaved by that government through the corrupt people we elected. 

One of our powers is certainly to replace them through the ballot box, so we must control the elections instead of political parties controlling them. We must protect the vote, assuring that every valid ballot is counted and verified.

It is not the government's job to provide all that it has mandated. Drug laws, gun laws, health care laws are all beyond the limitations placed on government by the People's and State's representatives in the contract we call the Constitution for the united States of America. It was a lawful and binding contract that all parties must adhere to. 

Since the government has obviously not lived up to the contract, We the People must do whatever is required by constitutional means to replace that corruption of government with new representation for the People and States. Further, we must restore integrity to the election system, by wresting control from the parties. What they are doing is unconstitutional and We the People must act now!

2014 elections are too late now to change, but 2016 is far enough away to allow us to make positive changes in the elections.

Trampling on Tyranny

Spinning propaganda to promote policies that have nothing to do with the issues is now the way party politics operates at all levels of government. A look at the facts will demonstrate the fallacy of what the politicians and government wants us to believe.

No background checks or bans to weapons or magazines would have had any bearing on the most recent attacks on Americans. Most of these deaths were not caused by guns. In the bombings in Boston, a more vigilant policy to enforce immigrantion laws may have prevented it since it was learned that these two were interrogated by the FBI due to information provided by Russian authorities. 

In the case of mentally unstable individuals who commited murders with guns, knives, and even baseball bats, it seems obvious that background checks would not have helped either. Most crimes involving deaths by shooting are weapons that were obtained by the criminals in illegal transactions. New laws will not stop bad people from breaking those new laws as they do with current laws.

But there is a much larger issue at the forefront of all of this. The issue most relevant is that of rights and limits. Regarding rights, there are some who feel that the government has the authority to infringe on the rights of the people if it can demonstrate it is for the good of the people or the security of the nation. The government cannot take that which it did not give. Our rights are not obtained from the government nor do we get them from the Constitution. And the Constitution only spells out some of those rights, rather concentrating on the duties and limits of the federal government, primary of which is protecting the rights and safety of the people.

There are many Americans today who think that government has the duty to provide many things for the people of America. These are people who have been taught by institutionalized schools, mandated and regulated by federal government, being indoctrinated into thinking as they are told to think, what to think, and allowing authority of the government prevail. More and more examples of individualism being suppressed and even punished make the news in between this recent major distractions from the real issues of a government that is so corrupted by greed and power, that they will sooner bankrupt the nation rather than admit they can't fix the problem without cutting the spending and reining in the Federal Reserve System that is further destroying our economy.

Our nation is under attack, not only from foreign extremists, but from within by a corrupted representation of the people, who cater to the whims of corporate interests to the detriment of the citizens they are supposed to protect.It is up to us, We the People, to defend our nation when our government fails. We must restore our nation ourselves!

Doing the Right Thing: A Revolutionary Concept!

This last week I witnessed what some are calling a historical event. By standing up and talking for over thirteen and one half hours, Senator Rand Paul did what we elect all of our representatives to do; protect our rights.


Perhaps it is the fault of an education system that is wrought with bureaucracy and corruption; the generations graduating from schools all across America have no knowledge of what liberty is and what it costs to maintain it. It was that commitment and passionate that allowed a small group of people (most claim it was only three percent of the colonists) to defy the mighty British Empire and claim independence from the Crown's rule of government.


The nation we call the United States of America today is nothing like the nation that was created with the ratification of the Constitution for the united States of America. See, back them it was the sovereign States who wielded the power of governing, and the union formed under a federal constitutionally limited government was meant to protect the States of enemies from without and the rivalries among and between them. United we stand and all that.

Great leaders, whether they are political leaders or religious ones, all have a way of uniting people in a common cause. Often times it will be the path that leads to destruction as it had in Nazi Germany and all the way back to the fall of the Roman Empire. Regardless of what propaganda is used, dividing the people only occurs when the united people have identified the "enemy" and the hence their target.

Maybe it is the difficulty that most intelligent people have in admitting they too were fooled. It was not any different for me when I "awoke" to the reality and truth of how my country was being attacked from within.

Do your own investigation. It may be good therapy for those feelings of being dumb. You're not dumb. You have been duped by one of the greatest plots ever devised. And yes, there are many who we have elected who are also unaware or refuse to believe that things are as bad as they really are.

By assassinating a leader, or creating a crisis, the country becomes pliant in the hands of the manipulators. Fear, sorrow, even anger and hate are all emotions that are stoked and manipulated to make people allow the government to "solve" the problem.

Lest we forget, "Governments are instituted among Men, deriving there just powers from the consent of the governed..."  and that We the People can give and take that consent when the powers we conceded are far overreaching the explicit limitations placed upon them, choosing new government through the ballot or by whatever means required to secure the Republic and the Rights of the People.

Senator Paul did his duty and he is praised and ridiculed. I simply acknowledge a man who stands as a Statesman, and a true representative of  the People who elected him.

History Repeats Itself!

It happened to the good people of Germany, when their own economy was in shambles after World War I. A leader emerged who promised the nation a rebirth. Changes for the better. It began in education, creating a movement in the youth to pave the way for a better future. Just like Germany, education was nationalized here in the United States. That was one of the fronts attacked to end liberty.

Soon, there were new laws that were for the "safety" of the people. Guns were confiscated from the evil Jews, then all guns were taken from the public. After all, the Gestapo handled all the security with the "help' of the people who willing turned in their friends and neighbors for just the slightest infraction to the Führer's laws. We have here in America, a media controlled by the government, that will spin the agenda of the current administration unlike any other in this nation's history.

Things never really got better. There were more wars to fight and all of Hitler's Youth Corps became the Nazi soldiers who fought against the Allied Forces throughout World War II. Although there are many differences, at least in general appearances, the parallels are extremely difficult to ignore.

Not unlike Germany, the United States has suffered a broken economy since the ending of Vietnam. Debt had accumulated to pay for the war, President Johnson raided the Social Security accounts in order to get the war past the voters without raising taxes. He would not seek re-election, obviously knowing that the economy would suffer without raising taxes to pay the debts accumulated from all the other "wars" he started.

One was called the "War on Poverty" and what we have now are millions of poor in what was the richest nation in the world.  The war on poverty created more poor instead of ending poverty. Instead of allowing the nation to create and innovate, government regulations curbed growth and created social programs to support those increasing numbers of unemployed.

Groups like the socialist activists of ACORN, taught people how to play the system, which they also lobbied to create. Even the communist countries who tool over the free markets and made them all state run, eventually could not produce enough to break even let alone prosper.

Our elected representatives now are allowing a narcissistic President to have carte blanche control and he ignores the rule of law in order to further his own agenda. Or is it his own?

Teach Your Children Well

Ask most individuals today and they will tell you that the government needs to do more for educating the children. The problem is no matter how much money they take from the taxpayer or borrow from the banks, education in America is dying.

Most of our founders did not have formal education. Yes, some had wealth and attended university, but many were taught at home. And they did not have easy access to a wealth of knowledge as we do today. The internet and online classes allow more individuals to learn, so why are Americans so dumb?

This is caused by what is taught and not necessarily who is taught. It is further eroded by a generation of teachers who are more concerned with policy than what they are teaching. And they too lack the skills, not because they are stupid, but because they also suffer from incorrect educational information and are themselves taught how to present the slop they are federally mandated to teach.

Standardization equates to control and poorer quality based on results. During the debates, only one person advocated the elimination of the Department of Education and a return of control to the local communities. After all, who knows what subjects will best serve the needs and wants of the people who live there? Obviously there will be increased diversity in curriculum  and that is a positive move toward making education work for American.

In his book, The Underground History of American Education,





 John T. Gatto explains how and why the quality of education has plummeted in the U.S. and offers common sense to fix the problem. It puts the responsibility to educate on the parents instead of the government. and it further makes it clear that schools that are private will be forced to compete in order to be successful.

Home schooling and charter schools offer more diversity in education than public schooling because they can tailor to the needs of the students instead of to some government mandated social standard. Further, they teach that which the students want to learn to further their dreams and aspirations and in a manner that parents are aware of and approve of.




There are many detractors who will claim that only the wealthy will be able to afford to send their children to the best schools. In fact the opposite will be true as the "affordable" institutions will compete with the most expensive schools in what they teach and how they present it to create the greatest comprehension levels. The end result will be students who learn and excel in their respective fields, and once again compete for the best jobs.

The Problem is Not The Government

There is a belief in America today that our government is taking rights away from the people. Each day we hear and read about how government passes laws that chip away constitutional rights or how the President writes executive orders that by-pass Congress and the judicial review process entirely to make laws as a dictator.

But the problem lies with the people and not the government. Yes, that's right, you are the reason that it is happening.  In all that is happening, the blame lies with the American People and not the American Government.

We all know the history we learned in school about Napoleon, Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, and even Castro in Cuba. What you don't learn in school is that all of them were financed by the wealthy bankers and industrialists, all of whom profited through the imprisonment and murder of innocent citizens who willingly gave up rights for the illusion of security.

We are bombarded by the privately-owned and government controlled major media to believe that America's lax gun control is responsible for the shooting in schools and movie theaters. That the drive-by shootings in drug-infested sections of metropolitan areas will somehow cease if weapons are banned. Even Hollywood celebrities come out clamoring for stricter gun laws or the outright ban of weapons by private individuals.

The problem is not the celebrities or the media, or even the government that produces this propaganda to frighten the masses into submission to loss of rights with the illusory promise of security.

In most nations around the globe, those with the strictest gun laws are  the ones that have the highest rates of crime. By contrast, the nations with the most armed citizens are those with the lowest crime rates. But you don't even have to look beyond our own borders to see  the absurdity in the media reports. While shooting like those in Sandy Hook grab the attention of the media, the stories of crimes being prevented or thwarted by armed citizens go unnoticed and unreported.

Every other alternative news story I read claims that are Second Amendment is under attack and that we stand to lose it entirely due to treaties being negotiated and signed by our President. If you really bothered to read our Constitution and truly understand its meaning, then it will become obvious to you that the President nor Congress has the authority to do anything beyond what the Constitution permits. The infringements made against us by our government is treason.

So when will you all begin to come to terms with the fact that it is by allowing it to happen that it does? When will you choose to stand up and fight for your nation in the face of a government that has been taken over and is being destroyed by true un-American activities? Huh? When?

Our Enemy Is The State: Part III

In his farewell address, former President Dwight D. Eisenhower warned of the Military Industrial Complex but most Americans had no real idea of what he was warning about. The term was not ubiquitous to most Americans and it was only those who were knowledgeable in the affairs of state who really understood his warning.

Most Americans were just happy to be working and paying their bills, still capable of saving for an annual vacation with their families. Jobs were plentiful, men did most of the labor while women were satisfied being wives and mothers. Some women did work, but like my own mother, stopped working when raising children was more important than having money to buy luxury. That was only for the wealthy or those who wanted to have the luxuries of the wealthy, and they usually bought those things with readily available credit offered by merchants or the banks.

Even a good education was available to the “middle class” in the best colleges and universities at the time. I myself was offered and promised scholarships to some of those great institutions of higher learning. I even attended some lectures when I was bored with my high school classes just to see what it was that was so special about attending college. Mainly due to how much it was drummed into my young mind that a college degree was a sure ticket to prosperity and a position of distinction in life.

But the usurpation occurred slowly. It reached quite a high as President Eisenhower left office and I was made shockingly aware of the impact when I read a document called the Report from Iron Mountain.

I highly recommend reading None Dare Call It Conspiracy and The Underground History of American Education. I consider these required reading for everyone who wants to know how we got to this place and how we can be a part of the restoration of a sovereign republic.

Resistance is Futile: Assimilate or Annihilate

History shows that no matter how bitter the battle and how costly the victory, the public will soon forget and feel they can once again trust others to protect them.

That happened with the victors of the Revolutionary War as the general public relaxed and allowed others to deal with the protection of the new Republic. They soon forgot how important it was to their own liberty to be wary and remain vigilant. There are always those who attempt to subvert the will of the people through deceit and force.

The entire chronology of the events that leads up to the present will be too lengthy to display in a blog article. However it does demonstrate the steps that were taken to slowly take control of the nation and the methods employed were devious.

Controlling the People’s money was the primary goal employed. The failed Aldrich Bill was later reintroduced as the Federal Reserve Act, and the public was duped into believing in was the cure for economic collapse. Reality has demonstrated the contrary in that it is the cause and not the cure.

Getting the individual States to lose the Senatorial selection played a major part in defeating the Republic. The 17^th Amendment needs to be repeals so that there is a more equitable balance of power in the Congress.

Of course that alone will not restore liberty to the States and the People respectively, but it will serve to repair the foundation of federal government that become shaky when the amendment was ratified. Some question the validity of that ratification, and I mention it here so my readers may further research and determine the veracity of it for themselves.

The education of the young was another part of society that became a “responsibility” of the federal government through the effective lobby of the corporate leaders in America, why felt by controlling what was taught and how student were “supposed” to think, it would benefit the corporate need for disciplined workers. By further standardizing education into primary and secondary, and then post-secondary further segregated from the former two, they made that college and University education expensive so that the average worker could not afford it for themselves or their children. It was an effective process to separate People into “classes.”

The premise of “life, liberty and property” became “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” where happiness became synonymous with having two weeks vacation after all the living expenses were paid, and the assumption of property ownership was unlawfully replaced with deeds issued by the corporate state. Think you “own” your house? Try refusing to pay property taxes and see how long you remain in possession of it. It is the State’s property so long as you pay your lease fees which are called property taxes.

Motor vehicles are not owned by the People, they are registered to the lessee, and the lessee pays fees to register said vehicle in their name as the responsible party.

Instead of protecting the religious rights of the People, the modern interpretation of the Constitution fools the People into thinking that banning any religious displays in public is protection. Under the guise of not wanting to offend others with contrary beliefs the rights to religious expression are thereby suppressed. That is unless of course, the religion happens to be Muslim and the political environment wants to appear tolerant by becoming intolerant to expression of all other faiths. It is this very thing that the Constitution was to prevent.

People step up and dare to challenge the system of delusion only to be beat back with anger, arrest, harassment, and ridicule. No suppression or retribution is unwarranted when the government and its puppet masters need to quell the uprising against them.

So we are left with this:

Obey the government no matter what they tell you or become a dissenter, an insurgent, a rebel, a terrorist. Regardless of how you feel, the government will choose what category you fall into based on the level of your resistance to slavery. They will determine whether you can be interred and “re-educated” or if you are threat to society because you cannot be reprogrammed, and therefore must be eliminated from being a disruptive influence on others.

A Representative of the People

I am a supporter of Art Robinson. I have read his book "Common Sense in 2012" and agree with much of what he stands for, more so than his opponent Peter DeFazio. Here is an email I received from the Art Robinson campaign. I include it in its entirety.

One of the most extraordinary and consequential races to be decided Nov. 6 is the challenge to powerful 13-term “progressive” Rep. Peter DeFazio by renowned scientist Art Robinson in Oregon’s 4th Congressional District.

This particular congressional race epitomizes everything that is rotten – and wonderful – about America today, and about the historic choice Americans will make Nov. 6.

Consider: Peter DeFazio is one of Congress’s most influential progressives, having co-founded the Congressional Progressive Caucus and served as its chairman. A true left-wing radical with a folksy Oregonian exterior, DeFazio supports socialized medicine (he voted for Obamacare) and partial-birth abortion. Just recently, as WND reported, he proposed a“Robin Hood Tax” on financial trades, a key demand of the Occupy movement and heavily supported by billionaire leftist George Soros.

Even worse than all this – and I’m choosing my words carefully now – DeFazio is a deceitful political hack, so desperate to hang on to his coveted congressional seat he’s occupied for 26 years that he’s willing to blatantly libel and slander his opponent with wild untruths, all crafted to scare voters right before election time – just as he did in 2010 when Robinson first challenged the long-entrenched Democrat

The letter below is the full text that was sent to the Democratic incumbent by his challenger, Art Robinson. I am supporting Dr. Robinson (PhD) because everything he stands for demonstrates integrity, honesty, and his knowledge and pledge to limit federal government to those powers delegated to it by We the People in the Constitution.

Dear Congressman DeFazio,

Your recent “reply” to my debate challenge is just more of the same sort of falsehoods and cowardice that we have come to expect from you during the past two years. You are apparently unable to tell the truth even long enough to arrange debate events with your opponent.

On June 7, 2012 on the floor of the U. S. House of Representatives, you yelled and pointed at a Marine Corps veteran, Congressman Paul Broun, and claimed to all listeners that he hates his country. When this Marine challenged your claim, you compounded your lie with yet another lie in a failed attempt to escape from the truth. Afterward, you refused to apologize to him and branded the other concerned congressmen as “idiots.” (See www.politico.com, June 8, 2012)

I know how this Marine must feel. For two years you have told one lie after another about my family and about me in your attempt to ruin our personal and professional reputations. In my book Common Sense in 2012 (which is now in the homes of a majority of District 4 voters and which you claim to have read), I list 15 specific falsehoods that you have told about us during your ongoing smear campaign – and I provide answers to your claims.

Also, of course, you continually misrepresent political issues, too. The truth, when known and understood by a majority of the voters, will end your political career.

Consider just three examples.

Gasoline prices. I would like to ask you about your co-sponsorship in Congress of H.R. 1683 on April 2, 2009. This bill would amend the IRS code to gradually raise taxes on motor fuels in the United States, through a permit system, until the use of motor fuels by Americans is reduced by 80% – reduced to one fifth of the fuel used now. How are Americans going to adapt to a one-fifth ration of motor fuel?

This tax would cause the cost of gasoline to skyrocket to more than $10 per gallon and possibly as high as $20 per gallon. Yet, simultaneously with cosponsoring this bill, you loudly complain that gasoline prices are too high and claim that you are working to reduce those prices. How does H. R. 1683 reduce prices?

Education. I would like to ask you about your “no” vote against amending H.R. 2556 on September 5, 2003, to provide school vouchers for Washington, D.C.’s mostly African American students? Parents want these vouchers so that their children can attend the better schools. Fortunately, the bill passed over your “no” vote, and, as a result, the high school graduation rate of these mostly poor and disadvantaged minority students increased and the cost of educating them decreased. Yet, when the voucher program was up for renewal under H.R. 471, you again voted “no” on March 30, 2011 in another failed attempt to kill this program. Why do you still oppose this successful education program for D.C. students?

You have also voted against merit pay for teachers, teacher testing, tenure reform, charter schools, education savings accounts, and state waivers from federal rules. Why do you (and the big education monopoly you pander to) oppose these attempts to improve American schools?

During my lifetime in education at the K through 12, college undergraduate, and university graduate school levels, I have taught many thousands of students. So far as I know, you have never taught a single student. Yet, you constantly claim that I am anti-education and that you are pro-education. (You buttress your claims about me by word-searching the large amount I have written during a lifetime in education and pulling out of context tiny bits and pieces, while ignoring the rest.) In a free discussion about education between the two of us, your duplicity would be immediately apparent.

Wall Street. I would like to ask you about your many campaign advertisements and fund raising letters in which you continually claim to be “targeted” for defeat by Wall Street and paint me as a Wall Street shill.

During your campaigns against me, you have received (as of April 2012) $264,499 in campaign contributions from 45 Wall Street listed corporations; $254,100 from 67 other corporate and industry groups; and a great many large “individual” contributions from Wall Street CEOs (the exact numbers are uncertain because many of these are disguisable under FEC rules). My contributions from these sources total only $3,000. (You also complain that independent expenditures favor me, but neglect to mention your own extensive independent expenditure help.)

The only Wall Street targeting of you that I see is the hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign cash that you receive from Wall Street in return for your misuse of taxpayer money and congressional power to do favors for these corporations and special interests.

If you ever face me in real debate – a prospect that apparently frightens you, you will be asked about your lies and smears of my family and me. And, you will be called to account for your real record in Congress and your poor representation of Oregon voters. The three issues listed above are just examples of many more, of which you are well aware.

You simply do not have the courage to face my questions and to question me in a format where we both can freely and completely respond.

During this year’s primary election, you even refused to face a 24-year-old OSU graduate student, Matthew Robinson, in one-on-one open public debate. Instead, you spent more than $100,000 smearing his reputation, including arranging the filing with the Oregon Secretary of State and nationwide publication of false claims about him and his family during the primary voting – lies that were, of course, disproved (and rejected by the Secretary of State) after the voting was over.

There should have been not one, but 10 or more students challenging you in that primary. There should have been so many students on the primary ballot that voters would have had trouble finding your name. Your policies in Washington are seriously damaging the future prospects of all of the students at OSU.

The public already knows, Peter, that you are a liar. Do you really want to be known as a coward, too? Why don’t you stand up and debate me in events in which we ask each other questions and the public – freely admitted to the event – evaluates our answers? If you can overcome your fear; if you can face me man to man in actual timed, back and forth debates of the real political issues – rather than continuing to hide yourself behind “moderators” and “forums” where rules made by you and your friends protect you from your opponent, you might at least rise to the level of a courageous liar – a level considerably higher than your current situation.

In my debate challenge to you this year (appended below and posted on our campaign web site at www.ArtForCongress.com), I tried to make this easier for you. I offered to attend one of the “forums” staged by your friends for each real debate you participate in with me. I suggested that you choose four event sponsors and I choose four (one in each of the seven District 4 counties and one in Portland).

You could continue to read your pre-prepared answers to softball questions selected by your friends in the “safe” environment that you prefer – at half of the events. In the other half, you would need to summon the courage to face your opponent one-on-one in real debate and without the protection of your friends.

Your recent “answer” to my challenge is typical.

You gripe about “partisan” sponsors and refuse my challenge. Yet, in your letter, you list five sponsors that you prefer, at least four of which are partisan. You say that you have accepted these five events. Apparently you are in planning discussions with these people. Three of them have not contacted me.

Let’s simplify this.

You choose one sponsor Mr. DeFazio – any sponsor, any format, any place, any time. I will be there. I will also choose one sponsor and one format. We will agree to attend both. If you have the courage to face me more than twice, we’ll each pick another set of sponsors.

In the case of your pick, you can have it any way you wish (so long as the public is not prevented from freely observing the event – as you did in one event in 2010) – designer questions, rules against discussions of topics not satisfactory to you and your sponsors, rules against standing while speaking, excessive time spent with candidates of "minor" political parties who favor your views, etc., etc. You can have it all.

In the case of my pick, you will probably find yourself in open debate of the issues between yourself and your opponent – fairly timed so that each of the two candidates has equal time to question his opponent and answer questions put to him. You will not be able to hide behind a moderator. After that formal debate – an American custom that dates back at least 200 years and is today participated in by high school and college debaters throughout our country, we can both respond to audience questions (again timed to be fair to both of us).

And, if I may suggest, try something new. Try to tell the truth. Your recent letter says that my proposal “deprives residents of the 4th congressional district of . . . audience questions” and that “voters should be able to ask questions.” You imply that I want to avoid audience questions. Yet, my challenge to you suggested that the formal debate “be followed by questions from the audience alternated and timed to be fair to both of us.”

You letter misrepresents my challenge in several additional ways. You apparently hope that the public will read your letter (and not mine, reproduced below) which you, of course, have published widely.

You also complain about my suggestion that you accept Lars Larson’s challenge to both of us (which I have already accepted). You have no problem with Lars. You have appeared on his program many times. He treats you fairly and charitably. Your problem is that he has offered you and me three full hours of radio airtime to debate our differences. It is me you fear, not Lars. You are absolutely afraid to appear in free and open debate with me, and you know that Lars will likely permit that debate.

One of your five proposed sponsors is KOBI television, a well-known partisan media outlet that is favorable to your side of the political issues. Fine, Mr. DeFazio, let’s go unedited (just the two of us) on live KOBI television – providing that we accept Lars Larson’s offer of a live radio program, too.

You, Mr. DeFazio, still have many supporters in Oregon. Many of them seem to prefer your policies of over-taxation, over-regulation, and over-indebtedness in Washington. They may prefer the big government socialism that you represent. Most of them, however, do not really know your views and do not fully understand the effects of your actions on their personal lives.

Most Americans have, on the other hand, a visceral dislike of liars and cowards. These are not personal characteristics that they want to see in their congressional representatives.

In 2010, you managed to avoid the real political issues by means of a million dollar media campaign of lies about your opponent and his family. This strategy against a new, publically unknown opponent was unprincipled but partially successful. You won the election, but lost – for the first time in your 24 years in Congress – in four counties (Josephine, Curry, Douglas, and Linn) and approximately tied in Coos County. You came closer to losing your office than in any other election in your 25 years as a career Washington politician – and your approval rating among the voters dropped precipitately.

This time, in 2012, you need to debate the issues. If you continue your 2010 campaign of smears and falsehoods (as your advertisements so far indicate you plan to do), it is your own personal lack of character that will become the primary issue.

Stand up with courage, Mr. DeFazio. Debate the real issues one-on-one with your opponent. Why not give Oregon District 4 voters a gift of honesty and openness this time, rather than hiding behind just another false advertising campaign?

Debates between the candidates are very important in giving the opportunity for the voters to see the candidates and evaluate them. The voters deserve in-depth debate between the candidates that involves a detailed discussion of the issues with more than just sound-bites and bullet points.

During 2010, I repeatedly urged that you and I schedule real debates – one in each of the seven counties of Oregon District 4. You refused and eventually arranged for four “forums” sponsored by organizations of your choice – which we ultimately attended.

For 2012, it would be much better to hold real debates. A format similar to the one I suggested last time would be ideal, in which we alternate speaking in intervals with only a time keeper. This could be followed by questions from the audience alternated and timed to be fair to both of us. One debate in each of the seven counties would be ideal and give every voter a chance to attend. Choice of a time keeper, exact details of the debate, as well as scheduling would be easy to work out between our campaigns.

If you want to hold “forum” events in addition to these, I would, of course, be happy to attend as long as they are open to the public.

If, however, you still refuse to hold real debates yourself, then I suggest our events be arranged as follows to be fair to both campaigns.

1) The DeFazio and Robinson campaigns cooperate in working out a joint event schedule for these appearances.

We plan eight appearances – one in each of the seven counties in the District and one in Portland.

The Portland event be the one that Lars Larson has already proposed. (Given his stature, neither campaign can afford to turn him down.)

Each side chooses the sponsors for four events. (One of our four can be Lars.) So, you would be choosing four sponsors and we would choose three plus Lars.

We simply alternate. You choose one sponsor in one county; we go next; and so on. Each choice must be from the counties not yet scheduled. You go first. We alternate until seven are chosen.

2) The format etc. of each event be entirely up to the sponsor. Some may be more “forum” like and some may be more “debate” like. This is up to the sponsors. They set the rules. (We assume that the campaigns will be talking with their sponsor choices about this and probably advising them. That is OK with us.)

All events be freely open to the public and held in large enough rooms to accommodate the crowds that are likely to come. Judging from 2010 and allowing for the increased interest now, we would expect between 500 and 1,000 at each event. Rooms that seat 600 to 800 and have room for a substantial standing overflow should suffice. (This should be no problem except in the case of Lars, whose facility is smaller. In his case, the radio broadcast suffices.) We should work out a plan so that the seating arrangements do not favor either side.

It be recognized that these are “campaign” events. Campaigning, handing out literature, etc. before and after you and I are engaged and speaking will be welcomed, but no audible distractions will be permitted during the speaking. (The usual admonitions to hold ordinary applause, etc. will likely be made – and fail as usual.)

The events be about 2 hours long.

Seating near the speakers be arranged so that it has approximately equal numbers of partisans from each side.

The events be a week or so apart, with alternation of the seven sponsors in an order agreed to by the campaigns. Lars fits his event in whenever it is convenient for him.
